한시에 투영된 포은 숭모와 문학적 형상화 양상

국문 초록

포은 정몽주는 고려말 절의(節義)를 대표하는 인물이다. 본고는 많은 문학작품에서 언급되고 문학 자료로서 새롭게 재생산ㆍ활용된 그의 절의 정신을 한시의 관습적 상징을 통해 살펴보았다. 이를 통해 포은의 사후 지금까지 많은 한시 작가들을 통해 통시적(通時的) 보편성(普遍性)을 갖게 된 과정을 엿볼 수 있었으며, 후대 문인들에게 얼마나 많은 영향을 끼쳤는지 확인 할 수 있는 계기가 되었다. 본고는 조선시대 포은 관련 한시를 1.송도의 포은 유적을 대하며 지은 시, 2. 포은의 작품에 차운한 시로 구분하여 살펴보았다. 첫째 송도(松都) 포은의 옛집을 들러 지은 작품과 선죽교 제목으로 지은한시 작품을 고찰하였다. 시인들은 우선 고려와 포은의 죽음, 선죽교 등 포은과 관련한 유적을 답사하며 비감(悲感)을 표출하고 그의 절의(節義)를 숭상하고 애도하였다. 현재와 과거를 대비시켜 무상감을 표현하고 비감(悲感)의 정서를 풍기는 시어들을 다수 사용하였다. 중국의 절의지사와 변절자 의 고사를 차용하기도 하였다. 둘째, 포은의 누정시에 차운한 작품들은 후대 시인들의 다양한 심경을 의탁한 것으로 파악된다. 포은의 원 작품이 명승 누정의 흥취를 표현했더라도 시인들은 별도로 각자가 처한 시대적 배경과 심경을 구현하였다. 또 포은이 지은 내용을 차용하여 교감하고 재창조한 작품도 있으며, 포은의 시상(詩想) 전개를 그대로 닮고자 한 시인도 있었다. 포은의 자취가 있었던 곳을 찾아 포은이 느꼈던 감회를 공감하고 포은의 심사(心思)를 상상해보기도 하였다. 포은의 문집을 보며 포은의 운자를 따라 시를 짓고, 사행(使行)을가는 여정에서도 포은의 자취를 따르고자 하였다. 즉, 각 시대를 대표하는 시인들은 포은을 통해 유람할 때는 포은의 호방(豪放)한 정신을 본받고, 우국(憂國)을 위해서는 절의(節義)를 본받고, 시인으로서 포은의 탁월했던 모 습을 흠모하였음을 살펴볼 수 있었다. 본고의 논의를 통해 역대 한시 작가들이 포은을 숭모하고 기리며 그의 절의정신을 본받으려 했던 모습을 충분히 짐작할 수 있었다. 후대 시인들의 작품 속에서 재생산된 포은 관련 한시들은 앞으로 더 많은 고찰과 연구가 필요하다.

영문 초록

Jeong Mong-ju, whose penname is Poeun, is a figure that represents the integrity of the late Goryeo period. In this thesis, I have examined in the conventional symbols of the Sino-Korean poetry his spiritual integrity that has been mentioned in numerous literary works and reproduced and employed as literary material. This review has allowed me to get a glimpse of the process in which since his death, Jeong Mong-ju has so far come to have diachronic universality through a number of Sino-Korean writers, and see how much influence he has exerted on the people of letters in later generations. For a review, this thesis divided the Sino-Korean poetry related to Jeong Mong-ju from the Joseon period into a. poems written on touring Jeong Mong-ju’s historic sites in Songdo (Gaeseong) and b. poems that took rhymes from Jong Mong-ju’s poems. To begin with, I reviewed the Sino-Korean poems which were written on visiting Jeong Mong-ju’s old house in Gaeseong and those which included Seonjukgyo Bridge in their title. Revisiting Goryeo Dynasty and Jeong Mong-ju’s death and touring the historic sites related to him such as Seonjukgyo, the poets expressed their sorrows and admired Jeong Mong-ju’s integrity all the while mourning his loss. The poets expressed a sense of futility by contrasting the present and the past and employed a number of words that exuded the sentiment of sorrows. The authors also borrowed Chinese anecdotes on figures of integrity and turncoats. Secondly, the works that borrowed the rhymes from Jeong Mong-ju’s belvedere poems are understood as resting on the later poets’ diverse feelings. While Jeong Mong-ju’s original works expressed the pleasure of a gazebo standing at a scenic spot, the poets went from there to embody their times and interior topography. While some of the poems borrowed Jeong Mong-ju’s poetic writings to rapport with them and recreate on them, some of the poets wanted to imitate the development of his poetic ideas. Other poets visited places that retained Jeong Mong-ju’s vestiges, empathizing with the sentiments that he felt or imagining his thoughts. They read Jeong Mong-ju’s collected writings, versified on his rhymes, and tried to follow his traces as they traveled on diplomatic mission. To be specific, I have seen that representative poets of different times followed the example of Jeong Mong-ju’s magnanimous spirit when they went on a tour focusing on him, took example by his loyalty out of their patriotic concern, and adored his excellent performance as a poet. The discussion in this thesis has shed ample light on how Sino-Korean authors from different periods adored and celebrated Jeong Mong-ju and tried to take example by his loyalty. The Sino-Korean poems related to Jeong Mong-ju that were reproduced in the works of the poets in later generations deserve more examination and study.
