영문 초록

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the relationship of (1) socioeconomic characteristics of older persons and their adult education, (2) the characteristics and their quality of life, and (3) the adult education of older persons and their subjective assessment of quality of life. For the purpose of studying the theme in the way of empiricism and positivism, we defined the three areas of variables: (1) socioeconomic characteristics, (2) attitude about the adult education of older persons, and (3) the degree of their satisfaction with life in general. Seven variables that are included in the area of socioeconomic characteristics are residential area, sex, age, formal education, religion, monthly income, subjective assessment of one`s economic class. Data used in this study was acquired from a national survey which was carried during the April of 1997. In order to investigate the relationships, we utilized the statistical technique of variance analysis and correlational analysis. As results, we found that almost all the null hypotheses which say that there is no relationship between the two variables could be rejected in the significance level of 10%.
