국문 초록

본 연구는 초등 교사들이 융합인재교육(STEAM)에서 미술의 역할을 어떻게 생각하고 있는지 밝히려는 것으로, 융합인재교육에서의 미술이 그 역할을 어떻게 재정립해야 하는지 초등교육 현장의 차원에서 그 방향을 제안하고자 하였다. 초등 교사의 인식을 분석한 결과 도출된 결론은 다음과 같다. 먼저 현장에서 미술 자체가 가지는 융합성에 대한 정확한 이해가 필요하며, 미술의 역할이 감성적 체험의 차원에서 보다 넓은 의미로 인식되어야 한다. 또한 미술이 가지는 상보성이 수업에서 그 역할을 제대로 하고 있는지 고민이 필요하고, 미술을 통해 융합인재역량을 기르기 위한 방법에 대한 연구가 보강되어야 한다. 마지막으로 융합인재교육에서 미술과 관련되는 활동준거와, 융합인재교육과 관련되는 미술과 내용영역에 대한 제한적 사고에서 벗어나야 한다. 향후 미술이 그 역할을 제대로 하는 진정한 융합인재교육을 위해서 내실 있는 운영을 위한 다각적인 노력이 필요할 것이다.

영문 초록

This study investigated the theoretical role of arts in STEAM and the awareness of elementary school teachers on this matter. We analyzed 113 responding teachers who have experiences with STEAM out of the 130 surveyed teachers. Many elementary school teachers believe that cultivating scientific and artistic thinking with sensitive imagination is the key element of art in STEAM. Furthermore, the teachers believe art has great influence because it converges with science and has close relation with ‘Emotional touch’. Art can develop students competence of converged thinking. Specifically, many of the respondents have picked the ‘emotional touch’ with the highest proportion in STEAM activity, in relation to art. For elementary school teachers, social emotion and aspects of personality has not been widely recognized, compared to the aspects of motivation. In addition, many of the teachers have selected ‘expression’ among the contents of art curriculums. On the other hand, the teachers that have their academic majors associated with art have selected ‘experience’ with high proportion. To make STEAM steer in to the right direction, art should find its real meaning in its role. To make that happen, efforts from the teachers and study on STEAM, alongside with support by the bureau will be vital.
