비장애 학생의 장애인식개선 프로그램에 대한 만족도와 참여경험에 관한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 장애인식개선 프로그램의 만족도와 참여경험을 분석하고, 개선방안을 제안하기 위하여 서울⋅경기 지역 초등학교 고학년에 재학 중인 비장애 학생들을 대상으로 프로그램을 시행한 후 만족도를 조사하였고, 이후 프로그램에 참여한 학생들 중 12명을 포커스그룹으로 선정하여참여경험 및 개선방안에 대한 견해들을 탐색하고자 하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 장인식개선 프로그램에 대한 비장애 학생들의 만족도는 전체 응답자 중 92.3%가 만족하는 것으로 나타났다. 장애인식개선 프로그램이 장애인에 대한 인식증진의 계기가 되었는가에 대해서는 79.0%가 인식을 증진하는 계기가 되었다고 응답하였고, 가장 유익했던 프로그램은 체험활동, 장애인과의 상호작용, 다른 장애유형에 대한 학습, 다른 의사소통 수단에 대한 교육, 장애인의 일상생활 활동에 대한 학습 등의 순으로 나타났다. 둘째, 포커스그룹 인터뷰를 통하여 장애인식개선 프로그램에 대한 참여경험을 탐색한 결과, 비장애 학생들은 장애인식개선 프로그램에 대하여 긍정적인 반응을 보였고, 장애에 대한 지식과 태도에 있어서도 긍정적인 변화를 보인 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 장애인식개선 프로그램에 대한 개선사항을 탐색한 결과, 다양한 유형의 장애 강사 및 또래와의 상호작용, 장애유형별 다양한 체험활동 개발, 장애인과 비장애인 전문가의 공동 운영, 여유로운 진행 등이 개선될 필요가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 상기의 연구결과를 통하여 향후 장애인식개선 프로그램을 운영하는 과정에서 검토되어야 할부분이 무엇인지 논의하였고, 연구의 제한점을 제시하여 후속연구의 필요성을 덧붙였다.

영문 초록

This study analyzed satisfaction with recognition improvement programs on disability with non-disabled students in higher grades in elementary schools located in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. It also investigated their experience to participate in the programs in order to present improvement plans. 12 students were selected among the subjects as a focus group of this study. This study aimed to explore their participation experience in the programs and opinions on improvement plans. The research results are as follows. First, 92.3% of all respondents who were non-disabled students found to be satisfied with the recognition improvement programs on disability. Regarding the question if the recognition improvement programs on disability were helpful to mprove recognition on the disabled, 79.0% answered yes. The most useful programs indicated were experiential activities, interactions with the disabled, in that order. Second, as a result of investigating participation experience in recognition improvement programs on disability, non-disabled students showed positive response on the recognition improvement programs on disability. They also showed positive response on the knowledge and attitudes of disability. Third, as for the improvement plans on the recognition improvement programs on disability, it was required to improve diverse types of disabled lectures, interactions with peers, development of diverse experiential programs by disability type, common operation shared with the disabled and th nondisabled, and operation with open schedule. Through the research results above, this study discussed about what should be reviewed in the process of operating recognition improvement programs on disability and resented thelimitations of the study to indicate the necessity for further studies.
