자원봉사관광(Volun-tourism) 참여동기와 인식변화에 대한 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 자원봉사관광(Volun-tourism) 참가자들의 동기군집 특성에 따른 자원봉사활동과 환경인식에 대한 변화를 조사하였다. 첫째로, 자원봉사관광 참가자들의 개인적 동기와 이타적 동기를 토대로 군집을 도출하여 군집별 특성을 파악하고, 둘째로 군집에 따라 자원봉사관광 참가 후 자원봉사활동과 환경 보전에 대한 인식이 어떻게 달라지는가를 살펴보았다. 본 연구는 2007년 12월 발생한 태안해안국립공원지역의 기름유출사태 복구 자원봉사활동 참가자들을 대상으로 하였으며, 온라인 및 오프라인 설문조사를 통해 연구가 수행되었다. 오프라인 설문조사는 2008년 8월 8-10일 3일간 태안해안 국립공원 4개 지역 방문객을 대상으로 하였으며, 온라인 조사는 2009년 2월-3월 2개월에 걸쳐 참가유형별 특성에 따라 기관을 접촉하여 3차례의 이메일 발송을 통해 수행되었다. 설문조사를 통해 자원봉사관광의 동기(이타적 및 개인적 동기), 주요관광활동, 참가전후의 자원봉사활동 및 환경인식의 변화 등을 조사하였다. 본 조사의 분석을 위해 요인분석 및 신뢰도분석, 군집분석 등이 수행되었으며, 2개의 가설 검증을 위해 MANOVA 분석을 실시하였다. 자원봉사관광의 동기 군집에 따라 ‘개인 및 이타적 동기 집단’, ‘개인적 동기 집단’, ‘이타적 동기 집단’의 3개의 군집이 나타났으며, 3개의 동기 군집이 모두 자원봉사관광 활동 후 자원봉사활동 참여와 환경보전 인식이 더 긍정적으로 변화된 것으로 나타났다. 특히 ‘개인 및 이타적 동기 그룹’이 다른 두 집단에 비해 큰 변화를 가져온 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

This study investigates the change of volunteering activities and perceptions on the environment according to characteristics of motivation clusters of volun-tourism participants. Firstly, it distinguishes groups based on personal and altruistic motivation of volun-tourism participants and comprehends their characteristics, and secondly, it explores, according to the groups, perceptions on volunteering activities and environmental conservation after participating in volun-tourism activities. This study conducted an online and offline survey, subject to volunteering participants for restoration of the area of Taeanhaean(Taean Coast) National Park from oil spill occurred in December, 2007. The offline survey includes visitors from four areas of Taeanhaean National Park for three days between 8 and 10 August, 2008, and the online survey is conducted through three times of e-mail distribution by contacting institutions according to characteristics of the types of participants for two months between February and March in 2009. The survey reviewed motivations of volun-tourism(altruistic and egoistic motivation), main tourism activities, volunteering activities and change of environmental perception before and after the participation. For the analysis of this survey, factor, reliability and cluster analyses were performed, and MANOVA analysis for verification of two assumptions. According to motivation clusters of volun-tourism, 'egoistic and altruistic', 'egoistic', and 'altruistic' motivation groups were appeared, and all the three motivation groups appeared to experience more positive changes in participation in volunteering activities and perception on the environment after volun-tourism activities. In particular, the egoistic and altruistic motivation group showed higher degree of changes than the other two groups.
