국문 초록

오카다 도시키(岡田利規)의 희곡 ｢땅과 마루｣는 진재 이후를 살아가는 군상들의 모습을 통해 미래사회 일본을 그려낸 작품이다. 동일본대진재 발생 이후, 암울한 일본의 미래를 그려낸 디스토피아 문학 작품들이 여러 편 출판됐는데, 그런 디스토피아 문학작품들 중에서도 ｢땅과 마루｣는 독특한 시선으로 일본사회의 현재와 미래를 재단한 작품이다. 특히 ｢땅과 마루｣는 시간적 배경이나 사건 및 인물에 관한 설명을 누락시킴으로써 작품에 대한 해석의 여지를 폭넓게 허용하고 있다. 다른 디스토피아 문학 작품들이 주로 원전사고 이후의 일본사회를 상정하여 원전의 존재 여부가 미래의 일본사회 역시 결정지을 것임을 그린 것과 다르게 ｢땅과 마루｣는 작중 인물들 개개인의 모습을 통해 보다 복합적인 디스토피아를 창출해냈다. 폭넓은 해석의 여지, 내용의 다양성에도 불구하고 기존의 해석에서 미처 다뤄지지 못한 부분들이 많았기에 본고는 다른 디스토피아 진재 문학과의 비교 분석 등을 통해 ｢땅과 마루｣의 불가해한 측면을 규명해보는 한편, 디스토피아에 투영되어 있는 진재 이후 일본사회의 모습을 읽어냄으로써 작품의 콘텍스트적인 해석을 시도하고자 한다.

영문 초록

Ground and Floor by Okada Toshiki is a story that depicts various male characters after the 3.11 Great East Japan Earthquake. Many literary works were published after the 3.11 disaster, and in many cases their settings were the gloomy social situation of Japan in the aftermath of the tsunami. Ground and Floor is one of the most unique works among them. Its dystopian perspective gives readers a unique look at Japanese society's current and future foundations. In particular, Ground and Floor provides little in the way of background information; therefore, it is open to interpretation. Unlike other works inspired by 3.11, which are set against the future Japan faces after the nuclear accident, Ground and Floor describes a complex dystopia through the story's various characters. Since it is open to interpretation, Ground and Floor needs to be read in a broader context. Therefore, this paper is trying to determine the unexplained parts of the story through a careful comparison and analysis and is also attempting to interpret it in the context of contemporary Japanese society.
