국문 초록

본고는 야스쿠니 가요를 중심으로 그 대표적 표상인 ‘어머니’와 ‘사쿠라’의 의미분석을 통해 야스쿠니를 둘러싼 감정의 문제를 다루고 있다. 그 과정에서 본고는 야스쿠니에 대한 심정적 공감의식의 기층에 깔려 있는 원령신앙과 관련하여 ‘르상티망’의 관점을 도입하고 있다. 즉 야스쿠니 현창을 지지하는 국민적 감정의 밑바닥에는 원령신앙이라는 민속적 관념이 깔려있는데, 그것은 르상티망의 전형적인 일본적 표현이라 할 수 있다. 이때 ‘르상티망’이란 “강자에 대한 약자의 콤플렉스, 원망, 시기, 질투, 증오, 모욕감, 복수심 등과 연관된 무기력하고 수동적인 고통과 분노 혹은 원한의 감정”을 가리키는 개념이다. 본고는 이 르상티망을 일본적 감정의 전형적인 미의식이라 할 만한 ‘모노노아와레’ 및 ‘미야비’와 결부시킴으로써 결론적으로 ‘감정의 야스쿠니’의 핵심이 ‘모노노아와레의 르상티망’에 있다는 점을 주장하고 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this essay is to examine the issue of emotion in relation to the Yasukuni shrine by analyzing the meaning of the 'mother' and ‘sakura' images represented in Yasukuni songs. In so doing, this essay will pay special attention to the concept of 'ressentiment,' which can be defined as “deep-seated resentment, frustration, and hostility accompanied by a sense of being powerless to express these feelings directly, often used as a means of justifying one's own weaknesses by identifying the source of envy as objectively inferior." We can find the notion of onryo(怨霊)", a folkloristic belief in vengeful Japanese ghosts, especially in support of those who have been martyred, in the widespread national emotions of the Japanese who are supporting the Yasukuni's perspective. Such a notion might be said to be a typical manifestation of ressentiment. In this essay, the concept of ressentiment will be linked with examples of the Japanese aesthetic sense such as mono no aware and miyabi, in order to demonstrate that the "ressentiment of mono no aware” reflects the point of Yasukuni as an emotional issue.
