안전의식의 영향요인 분석

국문 초록

본 논문은 안전의식에 영향을 미치는 요인을 검토하고 이를 경험적으로 밝히려고 하였다. 이를 위하여 사회적 요인으로 안전교육과 안전정보의 제공, 개인적요인으로 안전사고의 경험, 과거의 사회경제적 지위, 성격, 안전에 대한 이해, 현재의 사회경제적 지위라는 7개의 변수를 이용하였다. 이들 변수들은 모두 1~5% 유의수준에서 통계적 유의성이 있었으며, 그 결과도 이론적 기대와 일치하였다. 안전의식에 미치는 영향력은 현재의 사회경제적 지위<응답자의 성격<과거의 사회경제적 지위<안전교육<안전에 대한 일반적 이해<안전사고의 경험<안전정보의 제공의 순서로 안전의식에 영향력이 커진다 본 논문의 분석결과에서 이끌어낼 수 있는 정책함의에는 무엇보다도 중요한 것이 정확한 안전정보의 제공으로 안전에 관한 일반적 이해를 도모하는 것이며, 나아가 안전교육을 체계적으로 실시하여야 안전문화의 정착도 가능할 것이라는 것이다.

영문 초록

In this paper, determinants of safety consciousness are are empirically tested. In doing this, social factors such as safety education and safety information offered ; and the first kind of individual factors such as experiences of safety accidents or mishaps and past socio-economic status (SES) : the second kind of individual factors such as individual character, understanding on safety in general, and present socio-economic status (SES) are considered under study. All the variables under study are statistically significant in 1 ~ 5 % significant level and signs of regression coefficients of all the variables concorded with theoretical expectation. The size of influence on safety consciousness is as the following sequence. That is to say, present socio-economic status < individual characteristics < past socio-economis status < safety education < understanding on safety in general < experience of safety accidents or mishaps < safety information offered. Through this empirical study, in order to level up safety consciousness the following policy implications can be derived. To level up safety consciousness, it is more important to increase understanding on sfety in general through offering safety information and as next step, safety education is needed to enforce systemati- cally and then it needs to be taken root safety culture.
