국문 초록

신체지각의 가장 일반적인 형태로서의 촉각은 가장 원초적이며 필수적인 미래지향적인 감각이다. 촉각은 타인과 친밀한 관계를 형성하고, 세상과 소통할 수 있도록 세계에 대한 우리의 관계를 구성하는데 결핍되어서는 안 되는 필수적인 감각이다. 본 논의에서는 촉각의 본질과 기능 그리고 그 활용가능성을 중심으로 탐색해보고, 미술교육의 역할에 대해서 살펴보았다. 논의의 결과 촉각은 신체지각을 통해 세상을 이해하고 소통하는, 느낌을 통해 감각적으로 경험하고 이해하는 체화된 인지의 한 형태로 이해될 수 있다. 촉각은 신생아들의 발달에 결정적인 역할을 하고, 친밀감, 보호, 지지, 현존의 느낌을 제공하여, 우리의 안녕감과 건강에 중요한 기능을 수행하는 것으로 알려졌다. 촉각은 생물학적, 정서적, 인지적으로 작용하고 그리고 소통의 기능을 수행하여 행동, 사고 그리고 치료에 결정적인 역할을 수행한다. 미술교육이 우리가 살고 있는 세계와 소통할 수 있도록 세계에 대한 우리의 관계, 타인에 대한 우리의 관계를 더욱 의미있게 구성하도록 돕는 것이라면 촉각에 의한 경험의 본질과 그 활용가능성을 탐색하고, 그리고 이와 같은 감성적 능력을 개발하는 것은 미술교육의 중요한 역할이라고 할 수 있다.

영문 초록

The sense of touch, the most common type of perception of the body, is the most basic, essential, and even future-oriented sense. The sense of touch is an essential sense that one cannot miss in developing a close relationship with others and forming a relationship with the world to communicate with the people in it. This study probed into the nature and function of touch and its potential use alongside the role of art education. Study results showed that the sense of touch can be understood as a type of embodied cognition used to understand and communicate with the world through the perception of body and sensuously experiencing and understanding the world through feeling. The sense of touch plays an important role in the development of newborn babies and also is known to provide the feeling of closeness, protection, support, and existence, playing an important function for our sense of peace and health. The sense of touch works biologically, emotionally, and cognitively and carry out the function of communication to play an essential role for acting, thinking, and healing. If art education helps us to build more meaningful relationship with the world and that with others to communicate with the world we live in, then the important role of art education would be to examine the nature of experience from the sense of touch and explore its potential use and also develop such an emotional ability.
