영문 초록

In a dynamic managerial environment, in which customer requirements frequently change, just-in-time (JIT) production helps manufacturing companies ensure market competitiveness. Propagation of the JIT production paradigm has increased the need to implement on-time production and delivery, and missing a deadline results in a very high penalty cost. Therefore, manufacturing companies should be equipped with an effective production management system. Advanced planning and scheduling (APS) systems is able to establish a resource plan as well as a capacity plan that conforms to the actual manufacturing environment. In addition, the APS system provides a useful integrated production plan, considering the various dynamic requirements. This paper presents a case study on the introduction of an APS system in a manufacturing company that has trouble creating an effective production plan. Also, it presents the model of task allocation by using an APS system. Thus, the case study includes the process by which the master data model is built and the data is collected and analyzed in an actual production environment. In addition, an overall process for the standardization and modularization of data is also presented. Finally, the effectiveness of the introduced APS system is evaluated from the viewpoint of total production lead time. As a result, this study shows the benefits of introducing an APS system that enables manufacturing companies to efficiently manage production
