『企齋記異』의 사상적 토대와 미의식

국문 초록

이 연구는 『기재기이(企齋記異)』의 사상적 토대가 어떠한 방식으로 표출되고 있는지를 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 유가사상은 조선의 양반사회의 중심에, 도가사상은 소위 동양 예술의 중심에 위치하고 있으므로 대다수의 작품에서 그 영향을 발견할 수 있음은 당연하다. 본 논의의 관섬은 『기재기이』에 나타난 대상들의 관계가 구체적으로 어떠한 방향성을 띠고서 형상화되었는가를 살피고, 『기재기이』의 토대가 되는 사상적 측면과의 연관성을 살펴보는 것이다. 『기재기이』에서 드러나는 현실계(現實界)와 이계(異界)의 관계에서, 방향의 목표점은 현실에 놓여 있다. 현실계에 존재하는 대상이건 이계에 존재하는 대상이건 현실적인 삶을 지향한다. 이와 달리 『금오신화(金鰲新話)』에서는 이계에서 현실계를 침범하는 이계 중심적인 사고를 보여준다. 『기재기이』의 현실계는 이계를 동경하는 데 비해 『금오신화』의 현실계는 이계를 부정하며, 『기재기이』의 이계는 현실계를 금기시하는 반면, 『금오신화』의 이계는 현실계와 소통하고자 한다. 『기재기이』의 결말은 『금오신화』의 결말과 유사한 듯 보이기도 하지만, 그 이면에는 전혀 다른 의미가 내포되어 있다. 『기재기이』에 실린 각편들의 결말은 죽음이나 비극적인 세계관과는 거리가 멀다 오히려 현실지향적이다. 『기재기이』의 결말은 어떠한 방식으로든 인물들을 현실과 통합시켜서 현실계의 삶에 충실할 수 있는 방향을 모색하고자 한다고 보아도 좋을 것이다. 이러한 점들을 통해 확인할 수 있는 사실은 『기재기이』가 소재나 주제적인 차원에서 뿐만 아니라, 미의식을 형상화하는 방식도 유가적인 입장에 서 있다는 사실이다. 물론 도가적 미의식도 무시할 수 없는 영향을 끼쳤다. 본 논의의 의의는 이러한 유가적 입장을 『기재기이』에 나타난 현실계와 이계 간의 방향성, 그리고 결말의 방향성을 통해 구체적으로 살펴보고자 했다는 점, 덧붙여 도가적인 미의식의 발현양상을 구체적으로 살펴보고자 했다는 점에 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this thesis is to examine the way of revealing of the ideological foundations in 『Ki-Je-Ki-Yi』 (『企齋記異』) It is natural that the influence of the Confucian idea and the Taoism idea can be easily observed in the most literary works of Cho-Sun Dynasty, since the Confucian idea was located in the center of the noble class of Cho-Sun Dynasty and Taoism idea in the center of the Oriental art. The focus of the thesis is to examine how concretely the relationship of the objects are figured and with which orientation, and secondly, to consider the ways of correlating between the figuration and the ideological aspects that make base in 『Ki-Je-Ki-Yi』. The objective orientation in 『Ki-Je-Ki-Yi』 lies on the 'present' in the relationship between the realistic world and the sur-realistic world. Whether it is the object in the realistic world or the sur-realistic world, it aims at the real life ' However, 『Ki-O-Shin-Hwa』 (『金鰲新話』) reveals the 'sur realistic world centered' thinking that go off to the realistic world. The realistic world of 『Kum-O-Shin-Hwa』 denies the sur-realistic world whereas the realistic world in 『Ki-Je-Ki-Yi』 yearns for the sur-realistic world, and the sur realistic world of of 『Kum-O-Shin-Hwa』 tries to communicate with the realistic world while the sur realistic world of 『Ki-Je-Ki-Yi』 taboos the realistic world. The denouement of 『Ki-Je-Ki-Yi』 looks to be similar to the denouement of the 『Kum-O-Shin-Hwa』, but the former contains very-discriminated meaning. The denouements of the each section of 『Ki-Je-Ki-Yi』 are far from the tragic worldview, rather, it pursuits the real world. It can be said that the denouement of 『Ki-Je-Ki-Yi』 gropes for the way of making the realistic world affluent through the combination between the characters and the realistic world. The elicited facts through this study is that 『Ki-Je-Ki-Yi』 hold fast to the Confucian position in the dimension of materials and themes, and even m the aesthetic consciousness. The significance of the thesis is to examine the Confucian position and role in the 『Ki-Je-Ki-Yi』 concretely through the orientative direction between the realistic world and the sur-realistic world and orientation of the denouement of 『Ki-Je-Ki-Yi』.
