국문 초록

한국의 고대 도성 중 하나인 신라의 도성, 즉 신라왕경 안에는 여러 가지 다양한 생산유적과 수공업공방들이 존재하고 운영되었다. 당시 도성 내 중심지인 월성과 그 주변일대의 관청지역에 위치한 여러 수공업공방들은 주로 직물공방들로 추정되는데, 이는 당시 생산품을 주로 소비하던 소비처인 궁궐과 관청에 소속된 공방들이 근거리에서 유지되었음을 알 수 있다. 도성의 주변지역, 즉 신라왕경의 변두리지역에서 운영된 생산유적들은 비교적 대규모로 운용된 철, 숯, 토기 및 기와공방들이다. 이들은 초기에 도성이 형성되자 교통이 편리한 결절점 부근에 입지하다가 점차 도성의 규모가 확대되면서 철생산유적의 경우에는 그 입지를 제품의 원료가 소재한 곳으로 이동하는 모습이 확인되었다. 생산유적들은 도성 외곽에 입지한 관계로 인하여 도성 내 방리제의 확대로 인한 영향은 받지 않았으며, 입지조건은 교통이 편리하고 주변에서 쉽게 원료를 구할 수 있는 지역을 선호하고 있음을 알 수 있다. 그리고 생산유적의 규모는 소규모에서 대규모로 그 규모가 커지면서 점점 다종다양한 제품들을 생산하게 되었다고 판단된다.

영문 초록

A variety of studios existed and operated inside Silla's royal capital which is one of ancient capitals of Korea. Most workshop & studios located inside Wolseong, the central district of the capital, and the government office areas around it are estimated to be textile studios, and this implies that studios belonging to the palace and government offices, the main consumers of the products at the time, kept close distance from their consumers. Workshop & studios that were located in the outskirts of the capital, the royal capital of Silla, were iron, charcoal, earthenware, and roof tile studios that were operated on a large scale. Workshop & studios established there premises on the nodes with traffic convenience when the capital city was being formed and some of them moved close to where the raw materials of their products were when the capital expanded gradually. For most Workshop & studios were located in the outskirts of the capital, they were not influenced by the extended implementation of the grid system inside the capital and preferred the area with convenient transportation where they could access raw materials from surroundings. Regarding the size of the Workshop & studio, it is deemed that studios gradually produced a great variety of products as they grew from into large studios.
