장편가사 <이졍양가록>에 나타난 사족 여성의 삶과 내면의식

국문 초록

<이졍양가록>은 벌열 출신 사족 여성이 자신의 전반생을 회고한 장편 규방가사이다. 이 작품은 한 여성의 자전적 진술이 가문 내 여성들을 통해 필사의 방식으로 전승되면서, 개인의 회고담이 교훈을 위한 교육서로 바뀌는 성격의 변화를 겪었다. 작품의 창작과 전승 과정은 가문 단위로 전승되며 여아의 교육용으로, 가문 결속용으로 꾸준히 생명력을 유지해 왔던 규방가사 문화권의 특성을 전형적으로 보여주고 있다. 그러나 일반 가사보다 장편의 분량, 가문의 내력을 보여주는 듯한 작명, 그리고 작품에서 드러나는 내면의식이 규방가사 문화권의 그것과는 온전히 일치하지 않는다는 점 주목할 만하다. 작품의 원저자인 이씨 부인은 자신의 정체성을 가문에서 찾고 있지만, 그 못지않게 파란많은 생을 겪은 한 여성의 내면을 드러내 보이고 있다. 또한 풍속과 세태에 대한 세밀한 묘사, 다양한 주변 인물에 대한 관심은 규방가사 일반의 서술 방식과는 구분되는 점이다. 이는 <이졍양가록>이 규방가사 문화권의 중심에서 떨어진 서울, 경기 지방, 벌열 가문에서 산출되고, 전승된 작품이라는 사실로 어느 정도 설명이 가능할 듯하다. 서울의 벌열 가문은 여성문화권이라는 지역적 분포로 볼 때 가사문화권이라기보다는 가문소설 문화권에 가깝기 때문이다. 이 작품의 특성은 이렇듯 특정 문화권의 성격을 전형적으로 드러내기 보다는 여성문화권의 상이한 전통을 통합한 데에서 찾을 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

'Yi.Jeongyanggarok' is full length Gubang-Gasa in which recalls a life of a female from aristocratic family. This piece resulted in experiencing change of its genre from a female's self narrative to educational text via being transferred in written form over generations by females in the family. This shows traditional uniqueness of Gubang-Gasa cultural context in areas such as creation and transfer process being made by family unit, (its purpose) in education of female children and offering measure to bind family that maintained its life. However, it draws attention in which the content is longer than average Gubang-Gasa, title that implies history of family and self substance reflected in this doesn't coincide with the one of cultural context of Gubang-Gasa. While Mrs. Lee, the author, sees her identity from the family, it shows self substance of a female who went through lots of ups and downs in one's life. Also, it differs from other Gubang-Gasa as it offers detailed illustrations on customs and social' condition and interests in various people around her. This might be attributed to facts that 'Yi.Jeongyanggarok' came from' Seoul/Kyung Ki area where is far from origin of Gubang-Gasa and it's transferred piece. Aristocratic society in Seoul area from female cultural perspective is closer to family story book than gasa. Distinctive quality of this piece can be found in unifying various traditions from female cultures rather than demonstrating specific cultural context traditionally.
