고려 가요에 나타난 성과 사회적 성격

국문 초록

본고에서는 성을 소재로 한 고려가요에서 여성 화자의 성적 욕망이 당대 사회와의 관련 속에서 어떻게 표현될 수 있었는지에 대한 고찰을 시도해 보고자 하였다. <쌍화점>과 <만전춘별사>는 두 노래의 이질성에도 불구하고, 잠자리와 관련한 '자다'라는 동사적 행위와 관련하여 볼 때 두 작품 모두 인간의 성적인 욕망을 드러내는 '자다'라는 의미가 작품 속에서 매우 중요한 요소로 작용한다는 점에서 동질적으로 묶일 수 있는 자질을 갖추고 있다. 이러한 성격은 고려가요 <이상곡>에서도 발견되는데, 현전하는 고려가요에서 이렇게 '자다'라는 의미가 부각되어 일련의 작품 속에 등장한다는 것은 눈여겨 볼 필요가 있다. 이는 당대의 문화적 흐름이나 시대상을 읽는 하나의 지표가 될 수도 있기 때문이다. 작품의 연행 양상이나 존재 방식의 이질성에도 불구하고,<쌍화점>이 당대 사회의 부패한 면모를 풍자하는 사회성을 바탕으로 여성의 성적 욕망을 드러내었다는 점에서, 그리고 <만전춘별사>는 상층의 인물에 대한 영속적 만남을 갈구하는 개인의 소망을 바탕으로 성적 욕망을 드러내었다는 점에서, 양자 모두 '여성 화자의 성적 욕망'이라는 측면에서 공통적 성격을 갖고 있다고 할 수 있다. 여기서 논의한 성적 욕망의 표출은 여초 현상이 심한 고려 시대의 현실이나 불교 사회의 부패적 상황에서 일어날 수 있었던 한 흐름으로 파악될 수 있는 가능성이 있다고 추정하는 것이지 이것이 곧 이들 노래의 실체를 온전히 드러낼 수 있는 방법이라고는 생각하지 않는다. 또한 여기서 살펴 본 여성화자의 목소리가 곧바로 당대를 살다간 여성들의 목소리라고 결부시켜 말하기는 어렵다. 그러나 이러한 여성 화자의 목소리를 통해 당대의 여성성과 여성적인 것들의 상징성을 살펴 볼 수 있는 가능성이 있다는 점에서 본 연구와 중요성이 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

In this text, the woman narrator tried the study of how the womens sexual desire was expressed considering the present social circumstance of Koryŏ society. In spite of the difference between and , the common ground of those two is that the word sleep reveals the sexual desire at the same time taking the important role on the both text. It is recognized that the meaning of word, sleep, is brought out from some present the Koryŏ dynasty poetry such as could consider this distinction because it can be an index which can help the reading of culture and historical situation at that time. Despite difference of the structural aspect and existence, both text has expressed woman narrators sexual desire in common. satirized the women sexual desire as the social corruption, and expressed it upon personal desire of eternal relationship with the aristocracy. The sexual desire expressed in this text is only an assumption considering situation of women out-numbering men and corruption of Buddhist society, however, It is not considered as giving complete expression of the fact of this song. Also, it is not sure that the woman narrators voice is presenting all women has lived on that time. However through the voice of narrator, it is possible to study the women and womens symbolic representation of that time, and this is presenting the importance of this study.
