대학생을 위한 고전시가 ‘교육’의 몇 가지 키워드

국문 초록

고전시가 교육에서 담당해야 할 영역이 다른 장르에 비해 다양한 세부 전공과 호한한 범위를 지니고 있는 만큼 실제적인 교육 현장에서 교수자들이 가장 고심하는 부분은 아마도 시간 대비 교육의 효율성을 높일 방안 모색일 것이다. 그럼에도 시가교육에 대한 담론의 장이 제대로 활성화되지 못한 것은 고전시가 교육이 다루어야 할 시대범위가 방대하고 세부 장르론이 매우 다양할 뿐더러 이해의 두 방향을 필수항으로 삼는다 해도 필수적으로 따라야 할 교수방법상의 특이점이 까다롭기 때문이다. 상황이 이런 만큼 지금 당장 어느 한 분야에 초점을 맞추어 교육적 성과와 한계를 논하기는 어려워 보인다. 대학생을 위한 시가교육의 키워드(keyword) ’를 주목하게 된 연유가 여기에 있다. 현실적이고 구체적인 논의를 위해서라면 교육방법과 교재 선정, 평가 방식 등과 같이 미시적인 차원에서 접근되어야 하겠지만, 이 글의 기본방향은 시가교육 현장에서 전제로 삼을 몇 가지 사항을 정리하는 데 있다. 이를 통해 기왕의 시가교육에 대한 반성을 하고 앞으로의 전망을 삼을 수 있기를 기대하기 때문이다. 이에 이 글에서는 다음과 같이 논의를 진행하였다. 먼저, 대학생을 위한 고전시가 교육의 첫 번째 키워드로 자기-중심적 틀에서 벗어나는 문제를 드는 이유는, 시가교육의 현장에서 부딪치는 어려움이 클수록 오늘날의 상황에 맞추어 고전시가를 이해하고 교육하려는 자기-중심적 해석의 양상이 과열화되게 마련이기 때문이다. 물론, 개인적 취향의 스펙트럼이 다양하고 그에 대한 학생들의 반응 또한 다채로운 만큼 이런 측면의 공과(功過)를 따져 묻기는 어렵다. 이 글에서는 이러한 제안틀을 수용하는 선에서 놓치지 말아야 할 본질적 이해로 다름 아닌 ‘고전시가(古典詩歌)’ 개념의 한국적 특수성에 대한 이해가 교육 현장에서 보다 분명히 다루어져야 한다는 사실을 중요한 전제로 강조하였다. 대학생을 위한 시가교육의 두 번째 키워드로 텍스트-중심적 틀에서 벗어나는 문제를 디룬 것은, 시가교육의 현장에서 고전시가의 텍스트 해석이 중심이 되는 만큼 교육의 실제적 효율성을 따지는 것과 직접적 관련성이 높기 때문이다. 고전시가를 제대로 해석하기 위해 ‘텍스트’뿐만 아니라 ‘텍스트 상황’의 검토와 제대로 된 이해가 중요하다는 점을 강조하는 것은, 시 창작과 향수 방식이 다른 만큼 고전시가와 현대시의 미적 패러다임 역시 다르다는 사실을 지적하는 것으로, 이렇게 달라지는 텍스트의 소통체계에 대한 이해가 시가교육 현장의 중요한 키워드로 나서야 된다는 의도를 담은 것이기도 하다. 이에, 고전시가 교육에서 ‘텍스트 상황’의 복원 작업은 고전시가의 언어미학적 자질을 이해하는 데 중요하며, 당대적 가치관과 미학을 이해하기 위해서도 ‘텍스트 상황에 대한 이해가 필요함을 강조하였다. 고전시가의 창작과 향수 상황에서 미적 가치와 정서의 판독은 시가 작품의 평면적 공간에서만 이루어지는 것은 아니기 때문이다. 결국, 고전시가를 이해하고 감상한다는 것은 당연히 현재와 다른 당대적 상황을 체험하도록 하는 것이고, 그런 의미에서 작품 당대적 상황의 복원 작업은 다각도에서 이루어질 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

Whereas 'Study' is an exploratory activity for truth, 'Teaching' is an practical activity seeking positive change of thought and action. In that aspect, the subject that how we teach in the college, the academic community, with what kinds of discussion and which methods are valuable and interesting. Because the sphere of classical Shiga education covers various detailed major and vast range, the teachers may take pains over seeking the way to raise the efficiency of teaching compared to time poured. At the least, the reason of inert on the discussion for the Shiga education is because the era range that the Classical Shiga teaching should cover is too extensive, detailed categorization is very various and the peculiarity in the teaching methods which essentially follows even though we make the two ways of understanding into essential factors. It can't be easy to make a common-set in Shiga teaching when you emphasize national literary value or add personal tastes. It looks difficult to discuss educational performance and the limits focusing on a specific area right now in this situation. That's why I focus on the 'Keyword' of Shiga education for college students. For practical and detailed discussion, I have to approach from micro stage such as methods of education, selection of teaching materials and way of appraisal. But the basic direction of this thesis is to arrange a few factors which should be preconditions in the field for Shiga education. That's because we can reflect on the existing Shiga education and also expect to make it a prospect through it. So, I have started the discussion as follows. First of all, the reason why I take the matter of getting out of the self-centered frame as the first keyword is that self-centered interpretation that is to understand and to teach the Classical Shiga according to present situations is overheated as far as the difficulties you face in the field of Shiga education are heavy. Of course. it is difficult to calculate the merits and demerits because the spectrum of personal tastes are various and the reactions from students on it are also various. In this thesis. as substantial understanding by accepting those proposals. I have emphasized that the understanding of Korean peculiarity on the concept of 'Classical Shiga' should be treated more definitely in the education field. Getting out of text-centered frame has been taken as the second keyword of Shiga education for college students because it is closely relevant to practical efficiency as the interpretation of the Classical Shiga text is the center in the education field. Emphasizing the importance of review and proper understanding of 'Text' and also 'Context' for proper interpretation of Classical Shiga is indicating that the aesthetic paradigm between Classical Shiga and modern poets are also different. And therefore. I intended that the understanding of communication system of texts which varies such, should be the keyword at the practical Shiga education field. So. I have emphasized that the restoration of 'Context' was important to understand the nature of linguistic aesthetics. that the understanding of 'Context' is needed to understand the sense of values and aesthetics of the era as well. Because the interpretation of aesthetic value and emotion on the situation of creation and enjoyment of the Classical Shiga are not bound to only the plane space. After all, understanding and appreciating the Classical Shiga means to experience the situation of those times which apparently different from that of present. And at that point. the restoration of the situation of works of those times can be made from various angle.
