국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 특수교육 교원 양성을 위한 교육과정의 적절성을 알아보기 위한 기초 연구이다. 이러한 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여 전국 67개 특수교육 관련 학과(유치 11, 초등 25, 중등 23, 특수체육 8)를 4개 학과군으로 분류하여 교원자격검정기준에서 제시하고 있는 특수교육 기본이수과목, 교과교육관련 기본이수과목, 표시과목 기본이수과목 개설 현황을 살펴보았다. 이후 교과목별 빈도 분석을 실시하여 가장 많이 개설한 교과목의 우선순위를 집계한 후 개설 빈도가 가장 높은 교과목과 가장 낮은 교과목을 비교 분석하였다. 연구 결과 모든 학과에서 특수교육 기본이수과목과 표시과목 기본이수과목을 평균 38학점을 개설하였고, 표시과목 기본이수과목을 평균 30학점을 개설하는 등 대부분 최소 이수기준은 21학점 이상 개설하는 것으로 나타났다. 이를 학과별로 살펴보면 첫째, 11개 유아특수교육 관련 학과의 특수교육 기본이수과목 개설 평균 학점은 36.4학점, 표시과목(유아교육) 기본이수과목 개설 평균 학점은 37.1학점이었다. 둘째, 25개 초등특수교육 관련 학과의 특수교육 기본이수과목 개설 평균 학점은 41.6학점, 표시과목(초등) 기본이수과목 개설 평균 학점은 30.2학점이었다. 셋째, 23개 중등특수교육 관련 학과의 특수교육 기본이수과목 개설 평균 학점은 41.2학점이었다. 넷째, 8개의 특수체육교육과의 특수교육 기본이수과목 개설 평균 학점은 32.8학점, 체육 기본이수과목 개설 평균 학점은 22.9학점이었다. 이상의 결과에 비추어볼 때 우리나라 특수교육 관련 학과에서는 국가에서 설정한 교원양성 기준을 훨씬 초과하는 교과목을 개설하여 운영하는 것으로 나타났다. 그러므로 특수교육 교수와 전문행정가들이 장애유형의 교과목 이수 및 개설 현황의 적절성에 대한 검토가 필요할 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to prepare the minimum standards of curriculum in teacher training for special education teachers. For the completion of this study, 4 department groups from the total of 67 departments of special education in nation were categorized and examined the current status of the basic required courses of special education, subject matters, and indication subjects suggested by the standards of teacher qualifications. Frequency analysis of subject level was conducted and added up the order of priority. Then, the highest frequency in subjects was compared to the lowest frequency in subjects. Results showed that all departments opened not only average 38 credits on the basic required courses and indication subjects for special education, but also at least 21 credits as minimum standards of curriculum by opening the average 30 credits on the basic required courses for indication subjects. Frist, in the 11 departments related to early childhood special education the average 36.4 credits were opened as the basic required course of special education whereas the average 37.1 credits were opened as the basic required course for indication subjects. Second, in the 25 departments of elementary special education average 41.6 credits were opened as the basic required course whereas the average 30.2 credits were opened as the basic required course for indication subjects. Third, in the 23 departments related to middle school special education average 41.2 credits were opened as the basic required course of special education. Fourth, in the 8 departments of special physical education the average 32.8 credits were opened as the basic required course of special education whereas the average 22.9 credits were opened as the basic required course.
