DEA를 활용한 전국 대학 유아교육과의 효율성 분석

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 대학 정보공시제로 공개된 자료를 토대로 DEA 기법을 활용하여 우리나라 유아교육과의 효율성을 분석하기 위함이다. 이를 위해 전국 152개의 유아교육과(DMU)를 대상으로 효율성을 분석하고, CCR 모형과 BCC 모형을 활용하여 측정된 효율성이 기술적인 영향력 혹은 규모의 영향력에 의해 결정되는지를 비교분석하였으며, 유아교육과 효율성에 어떠한 설명변수들이 영향을 미치는 지 알아보았다. 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 우리나라 전체 유아교육과의 효율성을 분석한 결과, CCR과 BCC 모형에서 100점대 학과수는 41개와 48개로 각각 26.98%와 31.58%를 나타냈고, 상대적으로 효율성 점수가 낮은 70점 대 미만 대학은 22개와 9개로 14.47%, 5.92%로 나타났다. 둘째, 유아교육과 특성변인별로 효율성에 차이가 있는지 평균 비교한 결과, 설립 유형에 있어 사립대 보다 국립대가, 4년제 대학보다 전문대학이 효율성 점수가 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 효율적인 유아교육과와 비효율적인 유아교육과의 상위 10%와 하위 10%를 투입 및 산출변수 별로 평균 비교한 결과, 효율적인 유아교육과는 상대적으로 더 적은 투입요인으로 더 높은 산출변인인 연구실적과 취업률을 보이고 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 넷째, 유아교육과 효율성에 대한 설명변수들이 어떠한 영향을 미치는가를 본 결과, 학생1인당 장학금, 학생 1인당 장서 수, 학생 1인당 교육비 모두에서 양의 부호로 통계적으로 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 또한 CCR 모형에서 대학의 규모 역시 효율성의 차이를 가져오는 설명변수로 나타났다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this article is to analyze an efficiency and to suggest policy implication of the department of early childhood education using DEA(Data Envelopment Analysis), which is currently paid attention to as a tool for measuring and analyzing the relative efficiency of non-profit organizations. For this work, two models were established with 5 input and 2 output variables. The main findings of the study are as follows: First, About 27∼32% of the departments of early childhood education in Korea are operated efficiently, but 5∼16% of the departments of early childhood education in Korea are required to improve the efficiency. Second, there were no significant differences in efficiency scores depending on characteristics of the departments of early childhood education such as location, size, foundation. Third, efficient the departments of early childhood education showed higher outputs with smaller inputs. Fourth, the most important input variables are the number of book per student, scholarship per student, educational cost per student. And size of departments was determinant factors of efficiency in CCR models. This study provided each inefficient the departments of early childhood education with potential improvement and modification rate were provided.
