국문 초록

본 논문에서는 인간중심적이며 가치 중심적인 미술교육의 일환으로 인간개개인이 그들이 속한 환경과의 이해와 교감 속에서 자아를 이해하고 정의하여 개인적 가치를 환경적 가치로 재조직 할 수 있는 생태미술교육과 생태적 정체성대해 논의 하려한다. 생태적 정체성은 자연환경과의 관계 속에서 자아를 이해하고 정의하는 방식으로 환경에 대한 개인적 가치와 인식을 재조직하고 환경주의적 행동 및 태도를 형성하도록 도와준다. 본 연구는 생태적 정체성의 의미와 교육 방법에 대한 이론적 고찰을 기반으로 한 미술교육 사례를 소개하였다. 이 프로젝트는 환경에 대한 이해와 교감을 통한 생태적 정체성 형성을 목적으로 하며， 체험활동을 통해 환경 문제에 대한 경각심， 환경， 인간， 사회의 관계에 대한 반성， 환경 대한 애정과 관심을 형성하도록 돕고， 이러한 경험은 행동주의적 태도와 실천으로의 변화를 촉진시킨다 미술작품제작은 생태적 정체성의 내면화 과정으로 자아 지역사회 생태계의 상호작용에 대한 이해를 바탕으로 이루어진다. 제시된 사례로서의 프로젝트는 자아성찰적 과정으로서의 작품 제 작을 통해 지역사회 생태계에 대한 관심을 유도하며 환경지식을 형성함과 동시에 실천적 태도를 형성 하는 과정을 보여주었다. 생태적 정체성 중심의 미술교육과 작품제작은 인간이 자기 자신‘ 타인， 그리고 자연을 정의하는 방식 즉， 정체성에 대해 숙고하고 성찰하며 의미를 모색하도록 하며 ‘ 이는 환경교육 그리고 생태교육의 새로운 방향을 제시해 줄 수 있다 여겨진다. 또한 이론적 고찰과 사례연구를 바탕으로 초등학생을 대상으로 한 생태적 정체성 형성을 위한 생태미술 교육프로그램을 제안하였다.

영문 초록

Ecological identity (Thomashow, 1996) refers to a way in which people form their self concept based on a sense of connection to the natural environment and a belief that the environment is important to us as a part of who we are. So, it affects the way in which we perceive and act toward the world and hopefully, it can resolve the environmental problems. To build ecological identity, direct and actual experiences assimilating with and interacting with nature are critical. In this sense, ecological art education helps to build ecological identity. Ecological art is an art genre that uses natural resources based on interrelationship between human and nature, leading us to introspect the relationship with nature as ecological approach. Sensuous experience is an essential factor in ecological art to explore and understand the natural environment because it is based on intuitive ideas from direct and authentic experiences in nature. In this article, we studied a case of ecological identity education program through the art education project which was conducted at Florida State University in 2009, as an Art & Ecology Class. Also, based on understanding of ecological identity and a case study of ecological identity education, we suggested an ecological art education program for the elementary students to build ecological identity. It is based on ecological education principles that Sobel(2008) suggested. complying with the structure of the 2011 national art education curriculum.
