국문 초록

본 논문은 지금까지 배척되고 소외되어 왔던 이른바 ‘비과학적 영역’, 즉 ‘초자연현상’의 영역을 이데올로기비판적 입장에서 과학개념에 내포된 기본전제를 문제시하면서 학적 탐구의 대상에 포함시키고 있다. 이 과정에서 역학, 점성학, 풍수지리학, 관상학, 성명학, 초능력학, 심령과학 등 7개 분야의 내용과 특징을 상호비교하여 그 학문적 체계성을 진단하고, 나아가 대학에서 이를 수용할 경우에 부딪치게 되는 기술적 문제들을 해소하고자 하였다. 특히 이같은 시도에서 예상될 수 있는 내외적 장애요인들과 여론의 동향을 정치사회학적으로 분석ㆍ비판하면서 그 동기의 보수적 성격을 밝히고 있다. 그리하여 이 글은 이들 7개 학문영역의 제도권내 수용이 새로운 진리영역의 탐구, 동양권 문화의 주체성확보, 상대적으로 낙후되어 있는 지방대학의 특성화와 질적 발전, 그리고 올바른 직업교육과 사회정화적 차원 등에서 볼 때, 시대적 상황에 매우 부합함을 강조하고 있다.

영문 초록

A Diagnosis on the Feasibility of the Scientific Study on "Supernatural Phenomena" : An Attempt to open Departments of Supernatural Science and those Curricula at University, and Socio-political Analysis on the Obstacles to it This paper deals wi th the sphere of “Supernatural phenomena” as a subject of scientific research, which has been the so-called “non-scientific sphere”, doubting the fundamental premises inherent in the concept of “science” from a ideology-critical point of view. And this paper examines the scientific characters in “Seven Departments” of “Supernatural Phenomena”, i.e. I Ching, Astrology, Geomancy, Physiognomy, Naminology, Dynamics of Mental Power, Psychic Science. Besides it solves technical problems faced with in opening the departments of “Supernatural Science” and those curricula at university. Especially, this paper critically analyzes the probable inner-outer obstacles to those attempts and the streams of public opinion by the approach of political sociology revealing their conservative characters. Conclusively, it is emphasized that institutionally accepting the “Seven Departments” corresponds to modern conditions properly in points of researching new sphere of truth, discovering characteristics of oriental culture, performing job-education, and purifying our society etc.
