영문 초록

Worldwide, there are some 58,000 pieces of Chinese character Dunhuang Manuscripts. However, until now, there has been no catalog that organizes the entirety of this work in a practical, exact or reliable manner. The Dunhuang Manuscripts contain a plethora of information and valuable materials and documents from the realms of archeology, bibliography, and orthography. Thus, to compile this treasure trove into a singluar Dunhuang Manuscript index, it is imperative to develop a robust database. This paper introduces the Dunhuang Manuscript Database, a project that I am in charge of developing. I will introduce the structure of the database, the classification of information contained therein, the various functions and methods available, and instructions on how to put the database to good use in the search of detailed data, tailored specifically for the needs of researchers and the promotion of their studies.
