교육대학원 경험 의미에 대한 질적 사례연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 우선적으로 교육대학원에 대한 정확한 이해가 필요하다는 문제의식에서 출발하여 교육대학원 재학생들의 관점에서 교육대학원 경험의 의미를 도출해보고자 한다. 재학생들이 교육대학원 교육과정 중에서 어떠한 경험을 하고 있으며, 그러한 경험을 통해서 학생들이 어떠한 의미를 구성하게 되는지 파악하고, 그에 따른 교육대학원의 현황과 문제점에는 어떤 것들이 있는지를 알아보기 위하여 국내 교육대학원 한 곳의 졸업생들을 대상으로 심층면담 중심의 질적 사례 연구를 수행하였다. 그 결과, 교육대학원 재학생들은 “알아서 살아가기”, “얕은 수업듣기”, “현실의 벽 맞닥뜨리기”, “양다리 걸치기”, “교사자격증 남기기” 등의 경험을 하고 있으며 이러한 경험을 통해서 얻게 된 교사자격증에서 교육대학원의 가장 큰 의미를 찾고 있는 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

This research began with recognition for the need to comprehend what Graduate School of Education actually entails. In order to achieve this goal, an in-depth research was devised to comprehend from graduate students’ perspective the actual experience of attending the Graduate School of Education. We set out to discover what kind of experiences the graduate students face during their studies. By aggregating and analyzing these experiences and lessons, we aim to understand the current state of graduate study program in education and identify the problems propagating from the status quo. The study was conducted via in-depth interviews of graduated students focusing on Education in one of major universities in Korea. Result of this study revealed that students are experiencing the following issues, “Surviving without help,” “Low quality class standards,” “Having to face the real world,” “Studying with a backup plan,” and “Graduating with just a certificate.” And from these calamities, they are struggling to ascertain the true meaning and purpose of their chosen field of study.
