장애인 문제음주자의 삶의 경험

국문 초록

본 연구는 장애인들이 경험하는 문제음주의 의미와 본질을 이해함으로써 장애인의 삶의 질을 증진시키기 위한 기초자료를 제공하고자 하는 목적으로 진행되었다. 장애인 문제음주자가 경험하는 의미와 본질은 무엇인가라는 연구 질문을 통해 장애인의 삶속에서 문제음주를 어떻게 경험하고 있는지에 대해 심층적으로 파악하였다. 연구 참여자는 문제음주자인 남성장애인 7명이었으며, 꼴라찌(Colaizzi)의 현상학적 연구방법으로 분석하였다. 도출된 장애인의 문제음주 경험은 21 개의 주제와 5개의 주제묶음으로 분류되었다. 경험의 5가지 주제묶음은 '고통의 굴레를 술에 털어 넣음', '장애로 술에 치달림', '술로 소통함', '술에 어그러져버린 삶', '희망의 등대가 있음'으로 도출되었다. 본 연구결과를 바탕으로 장애인의 문제음주 경험의 의미를 심도 깊게 논의하고 장애인 문제음주의 개입을 위한 실천적인 제언을 하였다.

영문 초록

Although alcohol abuse is widely recognized as a public health concern among the general population and alcohol abuse by persons with disabilities(PWDs) is a largely overlooked issue. This study was carried out to get integrated approaches which will improve the quality of life by understanding the essence on the experiences of alcohol abuse by PWDs. By answering the question "What is the essence on experiences of problem drinking by PWDs?", this study have tried to find in problem drinking by PWDs position using by phenomenological research methodology. The data were collected through in-depth interview with problem drinking and PWDs. As results, 5 categories appeared from 21 themes as result analysis. These categories are to be characterized as follows. ‘put off alcohol by the confines of the pain', 'be locked up disabilities with alcohol', 'considering alcohol as a method of social communication', 'drowning his disabilities', 'in a beacon of hope''. Based on these findings, we have discussed the meaning of experiences of problem drinking and PWDs and have made suggestions for the effective approach for them.
