국문 초록

사회가 급속하게 변화하는 가운데 발생하는 사회문제들은 시민들의 삶에 중요한 영향을 미치고 있다. 그중 범죄문제는 점점 복잡.다양해지고 있으며 이에 따른 범죄두려움도 점차 증가하고 있다. 범죄두려움은 개인뿐만 아니라 사회전체에 대해 중대한 영향을 미치는데 범죄두려움으로 인하여 바깥활동을 삼가고 위험스러운 장소도 회피하게 되며 이러한 회피행동은 이웃과의 상호수준을 낮추게 되어 사회구성원의 신뢰를 낮추는 원인이 된다. 이러한 현상이 지역전반에 두려움을 만연하게 되면 시민들은 안전한 장소로 이주를 하게 되고 지역의 경제는 영향을 받게 될 것이며 비공식적 통제기제가 약화된다. 이러한 문제점은 삶의 질에 낮추는 요인이 되기도 한다. 결국 한창 활발한 활동을 수행해야 할 대학생의 삶의 질에도 영향을 미치게 될 것이다. 2009년 기준으로 359만 1,088명이며 대학생의 연령층이 20-28세 사이로써 가장 활발한 활동성을 보인다고 할 때 이들에 대한 범죄두려움의 연구도 필요하다고 하겠다. 이 연구에서는 대학생과 일반인의 범죄두려움에 대한 인식을 살펴보고 대학생의 범조두려움에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 살펴보고 범죄두려움과 관계를 밝히고자 한다. 첫째, 국가범죄발생빈도 추정 및 동네 범죄발생빈도 추정에서는 대학생이 일반인보다 높게 인식하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 이웃과 유대 및 경찰과 주민들의 친밀도에 관한 변수에 있어서도 일반인보다 낮게 인식하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 대학생은 부모에게 독립하여 대학 생활을 함으로써 원룸 독신가구에 사는 비중이 높게 나타나고 있다.

영문 초록

Social problems occurring in a rapidly changing has an important effect on the lives of the citizens. Among those, problems of crime is becoming more diverse and complicated and fear of crime has risen accordingly. Fear of crime heavily affects not only the individual but the entire society, and this fear of crime becomes the reason for avoiding outside activities and escape dangerous places and these avoidance lower the mutual understanding level between neighbors, thus decreasing the trust between the people. If such phenomenon spreads fear all across the region, the population will move to a safer location and the economy of the region will be effective and unofficial control mechanism will be weakened in turn. These also become the reasons for the deduction in the quality of life. In the end, these will effect the quality of life of university students who are supposed to be active. According to the 2009 standard, there are 3,591,088 university students between the ages of 20-28, who are at the peak of their active lifestyle, and research on fear of crime concerning this group is needed. This research will look at understanding of fear of crime among university students and normal citizens and analyze the affecting factors for fear of crime among university students and finally reveal the relationship in fear of crimes. First, concerning the estimated incidence of crime and neighborhood crime prevalence estimates, university students showed to have higher awareness than the general public awareness. Second, the variable of the bond with neighbors and the closeness between the police and the residents was considered less by the university students are shown to carry on with their university life living in a one-room single independent house apart from their parents.
