전문대학생의 학습유형 및 학습전략과 학업성취도와의 관계

국문 초록

본 연구는 전문대학생의 학습유형을 알아보고, 이러한 학습유형이 전문대학생의 학습전략 및 전공영역 학업성취도와 어떻게 관련되어 있는지 알아보는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위하여 473명의 전문대학생을 대상으로 Felder 와 Solomon 의 학습유형검사와 연구자가 구성한 학습전략 검사를 실시하였다. 연구결과 이들은 영역별로 균형잡힌 학습유형을 가장 많이 보여주었으며, 예외적으로 시각적-언어적 영역에서만 시각형이 가장 많고 언어형은 매우 적은 것으로 나타났다. 학습유형별로 활동형 학습자는 숙고형 학습자나 균형잡힌 유형에 비해 높은 학습전략 점수를 보였으나, 그 외 다른 영역에서는 학습유형에 따른 학습전략의 차이를 보여주지 않았다. 또한 전문대학생의 학업성취도는 균형잡힌 유형이 더 높은 경향이 있었으나, 모든 영역에서 학습유형에 따른 학업성취도의 유의한 차이는 발견하지 못하였다. 마지막으로 전문대학생은 남여모두 학습전략이 학업성취도를 가장 잘 설명하였으며,여학생의 경우에만 활동적-숙고적 영역에서에서 학습자가 활동형인가 아닌가가 추가적 설명력을 갖는 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

This study was proposed to identify college students' learning style and to find out its relation to study strategies and academic performance. Four hundred and seventy three college students received two tests of Felder and Solomon's learning style index and the forty-questioned study strategy test. Results showed that college students were categorized as the balanced-type most in their learning style dimension, except that the visual-type was more than the verbal and balanced-types. Active-type learners were higher to score in the study strategy tests compared to reflective and balanced-type learners. Generally the balanced-type learners tended to get higher GPAs, compared to the two types in the four learning style dimensions, but their differences were not statistically important. Finally, the study strategy was the most important explanatory variable in male and female college students' GPAs. The second highest variable was the learning style in the active-reflective dimension for only the female students.
