국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 한국과 일본의 교과 외 활동 교육과정의 비교를 통하여 교육과정 개발에 있어서 시사점을 얻고자 하였다.한국의 경우는2009년 개정 교육과정의 창의적 체험학습을, 일본의 경우는 2008년 학습지도요령의 총합적 학습의 시간과 특별활동을 기초로 비교 분석하였다. 양국의 교과 외활동의 교육과정은 성격, 목표, 시간배당, 내용을 중심으로 비교하였다. 그 결과, 양국의 교과 외 활동의 공통점으로는 그 성격에서 체험활동을 강조한다거나, 운영상 단위 학교에 많은 재량권을 부여한다거나,시간 배당에서 주당 평균3시간 정도로 유사하였다. 하지만, 양국의 차이점으로는 한국의 창의적 체험활동은 창의적 재량활동과 특별활동 중에서 특별활동의 성격이 강한 반면, 일본의 경우는 통합 활동의 성격이 강한 총합적 학습시간과 집단 활동의 성격이 강한 특별활동으로 분리되어 있었다. 마지막으로, 한국과 일본의 교과 외 활동의 공통점과 차이점을 기초로 한국의 교과 외 활동 교육과정 개발의 시사점에 대해서 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to provide elementary and theoretical materials for curriculum studies in Korea through the comparative study of extra-curricular activities in Korea and Japan. For this purpose, the national standard curriculum documents, commentaries, guidebooks, training materials, and related documents were surveyed. Then, through comparing Korea and Japan, the foundation, objectives, implementation time and learning contents of their curriculums were analyzed. The result of this study are as follows: Firstly, the survey highlighted that there are many common characters in the changing process of the curriculum, especially in the making and developing process of extra-curricular activities between Korea and Japan. Secondly, the study explored the similarities and differences of the creative experience activities in Korea and the integrated study hours in Japan. When the foundation in Korea and Japan was compared, there appeared to be similarities and differences between them. There were similarities in the two countries to emphasize experience activities. Also, the two countries had a tendency to change the current centralized curriculum ruling structure to a decentralized and autonomous system focusing on school fields. However, Korea emphasized group behaviors in the creative experience activities, but Japan emphasized to integrate subjects in the integrated study hours. Finally, the studysuggested various points of improvement that could be made to the creative experience activities in Korea.
