국문 초록

보완·대체의사소통 사용자의 언어 발달적인 측면은 보완·대체 의사소통을 사용하는 이유와 사용 시작 시기, 사용자의 인지능력, 언어 능력, 그리고 기타 장애의 정도 등에 따라 영향을 받게 되지만, 이들의 언어발달에 대한 연구는 아직 많이 이루어지지 않았다. 본 논문에서는 보완·대체의사소통 사용자의 언어발달에 대한 연구 방법론적인 이슈들에 대하여 살펴보고, 지금까지의 연구들에 의해 밝혀진 보완·대체의사소통 사용으로 인하여 언어발달에 미치는 영향과 언어발달 촉진을 위한 교수방법들에 관하여 고찰하였다. 연구 방법론적인 이슈들에서는 보완·대체의사소통 사용자의 언어발달에 영향을 미치는 내적, 외적 요인들에 대한 논의와 연구설계 및 기존의 언어발달 연구와 동일하게 볼 수 없는 각종 변인들에 대하여 살펴보았다. 보완·대체의사소통이 언어발달에 미치는 영향은 음운론, 구문론, 화용론, 의미론적인 면으로 나누어 논의하였으며, 언어발달 촉진을 위한 보완·대체의사소통 교수방법에 대한 분야는 상징 디스플레이의 구성적인 측면과 언어 환경 구성, 직접적인 교수방법으로 나누어 고찰하였다.

영문 초록

Increasing number of research articles investigate the language development of augmentative and alternative communication u ser s . Due to the unique nature of AAC, however , there are numerous unsolved is sues on this topic. In this paper , discussions are organized around the following is sues : conceptual and methodological issues , effect of AAC on language development , and pos sible AAC instructional strategies to facilitate language development of AAC user s. Fir st argument s on the meaning of language development for AAC users and research methodological problems were researched. Second, the effect of AAC were discu s sed in r elat ion t o fiv e domain s of languag e: pr agmat ics , ph on ology , s emant ics , morphology, and syntax . Third, various AAC instructional strategies were reviewed in respect to possible contribution to the language development of AAC user s. Symbol organization and teaching methods were discu ssed. Lastly , the importance and influence of AAC user s language learning environment was explained.
