국가 수준 교육과정에서의 교육내용 적정화 담론 고찰

국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 우리나라 국가 교육과정 개정에서 논의되어 온 교육내용 적정화를 교육과정 적합성의 의미와 관련시켜 재음미하고 적정화 방안을 밝혀 보고자 하는 것이다. 이 연구 목적에서 교육과정 분야에서 적합성의 등장 배경 및 의미, 적합성과 적정화의 관계, 교육과정 개정사에서 보이는 적정화의 특징을 고찰하였다. 연구의 결과, 교육과정 분야에서 적합성은 1960년대 말 미국에서 학문중심 교육과정의 적합성 측면을 비판하고 학생의 요구 및 실생활에 적합한 교육내용을 강조하면서 등장한 것임을 알 수 있었다. 또한 우리나라의 경우 제4차 교육과정 개정을 계기로 적합성 문제가 다루어지기 시작하였으며, 이후 적정화 지침 내에 적합성 관련의 지침이 다루어졌음을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구에서는 향후 적정화를 기하는 데 교육내용 적합성을 고려한 적정화 구도를 제안하였다. 그리하여 교육내용 적정화는 단순히 내용의 양과 수준의 양적 문제에만 한정되지 않고 적합성의 관점을 충분히 고려하여 도모되어야 할 것을 강조하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of the study is to discuss the relevance[jukjunghwa] of contents in view point of relevance of curriculum. Based on the purpose of the study, this study focuses on three research contents. First, the background and meaning of the advent of matter of relevance in the area of curriculum are considered in the study. Second, the relation between relevance[jukjunghwa] and relevance[jukhapsung] in revision of national curriculum in Korea is considered in the study. Third, this study considers the viewpoint of relevance[jukhapsung] and investigates its distinguishing marks based on the guidelines of relevance[jukjunghwa] in revision of national curriculum. The results of the study are as follows. First, the relevance[jukhapsung] in the area of curriculum appeared from criticizing the aspects of relevance[jukhapsung] in discipline centered curriculum and emphasizing contents suiting students' demands and their actual life in the end of 1960's. Thereafter the relevance[jukhapsung] has been treated as one of viewpoints considering relevance[jukhapsung] of curriculum in organization of curriculum and selection of its contents. The relevance[jukhapsung] appeared from the 4th national curriculum in Korea. Second, relevance[jukjunghwa] has been treated as a viewpoint adjusting the quantity and levels of contents since 4th national curriculum was revised. The matter of relevance[jukhapsung] was treated within the guideline of relevance[jukjunghwa] in 4th, 6th, and 7th revision of national curriculum. Third, this study suggests the framework of relevance[jukjunghwa] considering relevance[jukhapsung] of contents. Based on this framework, the characteristics of the guideline of relevance[jukjunghwa] of the revision of the 4th, 6th, and 7th national curriculum are as follows. The matter relevance[jukhapsung] relating to learner, society, learning, objective, contents is indicated in the guideline of relevance[jukjunghwa] in 4th national curriculum. The matter relevance[jukhapsung], however, is of litter importance in the revision of the 5th national curriculum. The matter relevance[jukhapsung] is presented again in the revision of the 6th and 7th national curriculum partially. In conclusion, relevance[jukjunghwa] of contents should plan considering not only quantity and level of contents but also viewpoint of relevance[jukhapsung].
