Piaget의 구성주의에 근거한 Kamii와 DeVries의 유아교육론

국문 초록

본 연구는 입시경쟁의 학력의 정당성에서 인지적 교육을 왜곡시키는 심각성을 지적하였다. 인지발달의 대표자인 Piaget의 구성주의와 이 이론을 유아교육에 적용한 Kamii & DeVries의 인지발달 유아교육론을 유기적인 총체적 고찰을 하였다. 구성주의의 Piaget의 발생학적 인식론은, 유아가 학습자로서 물리적, 사회적 세계와 상호작용하는 해석적․귀납적 구축과정이라고 보는 인식을 가능하게 했다. Kamii & DeVries의 교과내용의 기저를 이루는 Piaget의 지식의 구조는 논리․수학적 체계를 사용하여 구성된다. 인지 핵심의 이 구조는 교육과정과 사회 문화적 현상에 대한 사물을 보는 수단 또는 개념적 도구로서 조작적인 인지구조와 그 기능이다. 따라서 교육은 평형화된 상태를 허용하는 심리적 구조의 자율적인 활동을 촉진하고 돕는 일련의 과정으로 본다. Kamii와 DeVries는 전통적인 교육 활동, 일상생활, 물리적 활동(역학)등과 게임을 인지적 갈등으로 유도할 수 있는 교육과정으로 구조화하였다. 이는 유아자신이 자기 조절적인 과정을 활성화시키는 노력을 기울어 인지발달을 촉진시키게 한다. 그러나 구조가 의미가 아닌 기호체제간의 차이점만을 보기 때문에 주체적 반성적 사유기능의 한계가 있다. 또 인지 구조가 능동적으로 구성된다고 하나, 구조 속에 있는 요소들을 가지고 변형해 나가므로 폐쇄성의 함의를 담고 있다. 따라서 단순한 생물학적 삶의 차원을 떠나 초월적인 정신적 상징의 세계의 필요성과 또 유아들의 능력을 넘는 거대한 구성은 교사의 지도성 수용이 요청된다.

영문 초록

This study involves consideration of the basic process and the premise of the Early Child Education program that Kamii & Devries have suggested. Throughout the whole history of philosophy, Piaget, who was an advocate of epistemological constructivism that had a great emphasis on the process of knowledge formation and acquisition of human, seized the two main point, recognition and the truth ,in two aspects. In other words, those are the utilitarian instrumentality and the relative instrumentality; the former provides the utility for life, the latter is related to the conceptual coherence theory of cognitive structure. Knowledge itself is formed through the bilateral interaction between the concepts that were settled down in the cognitive structure and their behaviors that is followed by reflective thinking rather that through objective situations or descriptions on events. Kamii & DeVries had elaborated and settled down the derived concepts of Piaget's. Under the proposition that leaning is the inductive and analytic process that aggressive learners achieve while they are actively interacting with physical, social world, the purpose of Early Child Education lies on the development of cognitive operation that elevates the chances of developments. The contents and the methods were organized in traditional way such as daily activities and games that are supposed to raise cognitive conflicts, and they were applied to Piaget's constructive teaching-learning. This view on education carries a significant meaning in the practice of Early Child Education, cognitive structure
