국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 가족 및 학교 특성을 중심으로 장애청소년의 사회적 능력에 영향을 미치는 요인을 파악하는 것이다. 구체적으로 본 연구는 장애청소년 개인의 특성을 통제한 후 어떤 가족요인과 학교특성이 장애청소년의 사회적 능력과 유의미하게 관련되는지를 확인하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 경기도장애인부모연대의 협조를 받아 이 단체 회원들을 대상으로 2008년 10월 한 달간 자기기입방식의 설문조사를 실시하였다. 배포된 설문지는 총 480부였으며 이중 95.2%인 457개 설문지가 수거되었다. 조사시점 당시 장애 자녀가 학교에 재학 중이지 않거나 혹은 만 11세 이상 19세 이하의 청소년기 연령에 해당하지 않는 54개 사례가 제외되고 403개 사례만이 분석에 활용되었다. 위계적 중다회귀분석을 실시한 결과, 장애청소년의 연령, 성별, 장애유형 및 장애정도가 통제된 상태에서 가족특성 중에서는 부모의 양육태도 중 성취적 양육태도와 합리적 양육태도가, 그리고 학교특성 중에서는 통합교육방식과 장애청소년자녀들이 재학 중인 학교 학생들간 우호적 관계와 약자배려태도가 종속변수와 유의미한 관계에 있는 것으로 나타났다. 논의 및 결론에서는 본 연구결과의 의의와 한계가 검토되었으며 후속연구를 위한 제언이 포함되었다.

영문 초록

The primary purpose of this study is to examine factors related to social competence of adolescents with disabilities, with a special foci on family and school characteristics. Specifically, it was intended to investigate the effects of family and school characteristics on social competence of adolescents with disabilities after adjusting for individual characteristics such as gender, age, and disability types and severity. A survey was conducted with the members of Parents' Solidarity of Children with Disabilities in Kyunggi Province, Korea, using a self-administered questionnaire in October 2008. Among the 480 survey questionnaires distributed, 457 were returned (95.2% response rate). The final analysis sample was composed of 403 parents of children who were 11 through 19 years old and enrolled in schools at the time of the survey. Hierarchical multiple regression results showed that 'achievement-oriented' and 'reasoning-oriented' parenting styles, and 'inclusive school settings,' 'friendly relationships and low levels of peer rejection among classmates' were significantly associated with social competence of adolescents with disabilities, after controlling for age, gender, and disability type and severity. The implications and limitations of this study’s findings and the recommendations for future research were included in the discussion.
