접대비모형과 실증분석

국문 초록

기업의 접대비 지출형태와 조세영향을 분석하기 위하여 접대비가 매출에 영향을 주며, 기업 간 접대비 경쟁이 존재하는 모형을 설정하였다. 모형의 분석결과에 따르면 세율이 낮을수록, 접대비의 세금공제비율이 높을수록 접대비지출이 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 실증분석에서는 한국신용정보에서 제공하는 기업재무제표를 사용하였으며, 기간은 1991년부터 2000년까지이다. 실증분석결과에 따르면 세율이 높아지면 접대비지출이 감소되고, 접대비의 한도가 커지면 접대비가 증가하였다. 이는 접대비를 통제하기 위해서는 접대비의 한도를 낮추는 것이 필요하다는 것을 시사한다. 또한 다른 기업이 접대비를 증대시키면 당해 기업도 접대비를 증가시켰다. 이 밖에 접대비의 매출액 탄력성은 0.53이었으며, 음료·의복업, 소매업의 접대비지출이 작고, 광업과 화학업은 접대비지출이 큰 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

In this paper, we set up a theoretical model for the competition of activities to analyze the effect of tax policy on a firm's entertainment activity. The result of analysis shows that a firm with higher tax deductibility spends more entertainment. For the empirical analysis the financial data from the National Information & Credit Evaluation Inc. is used for the period of 10 years from 1991 to 2000. The empirical analysis shows that a firm reduces its entertainment expenses as the tax rate increases and that a firm increases its entertainment expenses as the tax deductibility increases. These findings imply that a firm's entertainment activity could be controlled by the tax deductibility which is determined by the tax policy. The empirical analysis also shows that a firm's entertainment expenses increases as other firms (competitors) in the same industry increase their entertainment expenses, that the estimated elasticity between sales and entertainment expenses is 0.53, and that the entertainment expenses are smaller in the industries such as food and beverages, apparel, retail trade, and larger in the industries such as mining and chemicals.
