영문 초록

  The world anxiously waits to see which direction President George W. Bush will drive U.S. foreign policy over the next four years. Throughout presidential election that was dominated by discussion of America"s role in the world, the president"s supporters and critics exaggerated myths about Bush"s foreign policy. It is generally accepted that U.S. foreign policy continues to be neo-conservative under the leadership of President Bush and his team with the support from Republican dominated Congress.
  However, it is also important to note that non-institutional actors have played pivotal. roles in foreign policy making although you cannot capture visible influences easily.
  Since the terrorist attack of September 11, general public are fear of threat from outside and tend to be conservative in policy preference based above all on overwhelming U.S. military power. Gaining a mandate for another term is a reflection of this neo-conservatist stream of general public and social forces.
  This paper explores the characteristics of conservative social forces in the field of U.S. foreign policies by examining origins and operations of major conservative groups. The potential social forces for conservative policies varies from ideological groups to industrial-military complex. It is not easy to figure out the degree of actual output of social groups" influence. However, it is obvious the composition and influence of conservative social forces have been continuous and enduring. For example, ethnic groups" influence has been the one of the most powerful factors on the U. S. foreign policy output.
