영문 초록
The ultimate aim of the current 7th curriculum for korean Education is " to expand the learners" creative Korean using abilities." This means more than literacy, that is, expressing their thought with language and cultivating their high mental abilities through languages. Like this, Korean is the subject which guides the students to read, to listen, to write, and to speak Korean in the right way in order to express themselves right and to understand effectively.
But 50%~70% of Korean are based on the Chinese letters, so it is necessary to understand the meanings of Chinese letters to use our language in the right way. More practical and more effective teaching methodology for Chinese letters is needed to pursue wider understanding of the importance of Chinese letters in Korean vocabulary, In chapter Ⅱ, the general idea of vocabulary and Chinese letters are defined. The teaching methodology for Korean vocabulary and Chines letters is provided. Then the educational value of teaching Chinese letters and its guidance direction are suggested. That"s the basis of Chinese letter education by illuminating the their roles in the vocabulary education.
In chapterⅢ, the Chinese letters are collected from the textbook 「Reading」 for the second semester of the fourth grade, and their aspects are examined. The frequency of collected Chinese letters are checked out page by page and the selecting direction for the standard Chinese letters is mentioned, which is based on the elementary Chinese letter education.
In chapter Ⅳ, the guidance is suggested for teaching Chinese letters in textbook.
The criterions of choosing the guidance elements for Chinese letters are suggested with based on the inquired Chinese letters in the chapter Ⅲ. Also the realities for teaching are accomplished through the Unconscious learning steps(비인식 단계 학습법) and the Cognitive learning steps(인식단계 학습법).
In this way, this study draws a decision that Korean vocabulary ability can be expanded by teaching Chinese letters. From this conclusion, Chinese letter education should made up through the everyday language. That can be the foundation for the systematic and right Korean Education and also prerequisite for teaching Chinese letters. And it is necessary that teachers should let the students refresh the perception of the Chinese letters and should devote themselves to expand vocabulary abilities though learning Chinese letters.
