자폐인의 직업유지 요인에 관한 사례 연구

국문 초록

  이 연구에서는 직업훈련 후 취업하여, 직업생활을 유지하고 있는 자폐인들을 대상으로 문서기록 검증과 장애인을 고용하고 있는 고용주 또는 인사담당자를 대상으로 한 심층 면담을 통해 자폐인의 직업유지 요인을 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 한국장애인고용촉진공단 대전직업능력개발센터에서 직업훈련 과정을 이수한 후 3개월 이상 직업생활을 유지하고 있는 발달장애로 진단을 받은 자폐인 3명과 장애인을 고용하고 있는 고용주 또는 인사담당자 3명을 연구대상으로 삼았다. 첫째, 문서기록 검증을 통해 알아본 자폐인의 직업유지 요인은 작업 지속력과 인내력, 양호한 작업 수행도, 정서ㆍ행동 문제의 통제 가능성, 직업흥미와 취업 직종간의 연계 등으로 나타났다. 둘째, 고용주 또는 인사담당자와의 심층면담을 통해 도출한 자폐인의 직업유지 요인은 직무의 반복성, 지속적으로 작업을 수행하는 능력, 직장출근에 대한 의지, 동료근로자들의 이해, 가족과의 연계 등으로 나타났다. 현재까지 우리나라에서는 자폐인의 직업유지 요인에 관한 연구가 부족한 실정이며, 직업을 유지하고 있는 자폐인의 사례도 드물다. 이 연구의 결과는 자폐인이 원만한 직업생활을 하기 위해 갖추어야 할 요인이 무엇인가를 시사하는 것으로, 자폐인의 직업재활 프로그램의 구성 등에 기초자료로 활용할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

영문 초록

  The purpose of this study was to examine the job retention factor of the individuals with autistic disorder who maintained employment status after vocational training. The participants were three individuals with autistic disorder who maintained employment status more than three months and their employers and manager. To determine the job retention factor of individuals with autistic disorder, a document about participants with disabilities was reviewed and analysed and interviews with employer or manager who worked with individuals with autistic disorder were executed.
  The job retention factors of individuals with autistic disorder obtained through reviewing of documents were fundamental work persistency and endurance, good job performance, possibility of control on emotional and behavioral problems and the matching between vocational interest and employment. And job success factors through interviewing with employer or manager were repetitiveness on job, sustaining power of job performance, understanding of a co-worker, a will of attendance to work, a link with families.
  Up to now, the studies on vocational education and rehabilitation of individuals with autistic disorder were insufficient, and cases of job retention of individuals with autistic disorder were rare in Korea. There are implication that this was a basic study for future research and urged to interest on vocational education and rehabilitation of individuals with autistic disorder.
