영문 초록

The purpose of this study lies in arranging concept of sea novel and then investigating its authenticity. And it is considered as the spaceness of sea novel. The results are as follows. 1. Because the term called 'Sea Novel' is not term in the literary theory system in viewing it as genre, the designation in genre theory system should be called 'Sea Novel, Sea Poetry, Sea Essay' etc. In this case, the prerequisite having designation of genre called Sea Novel is available when it is not the material, sea and setting played on partial elements of text, but setting dominating the whole text which has relation closely with its subject. Accordingly, setting and theme of dominant sea-experience is called as sea novel. 2. The reason why I can not but limit the range of the Sea Novel is the fact that it is possible to be a modern style after sea is included in the life and the scene of labor. In case of Korea, because its surroundings is formed in 1960s, I think it possible to produce of works to get authenticity in sea literary afterwards it. 3. Sea Novel can not but emphasize the space in its name. Space in Sea novel works as a dominant experiential facts, and then it becomes internalized, conscious and finally consists in foundation of story space. Also a important feature of Sea Novel includes sea and ship essentially--namely, a special space-- and is different from a general narration to be open in width of adoption and rejection. The Conclusionthrough analysis in correlation with main motive of "Sea-Ship-Voyage" and recognition of space which focuses on theme is as follows. First of all, as for recognition of deviation, ① I can identify the fear of death caused sea space--It is weak ,but it is recognized paradoxically as man's true character and importance of life with maximized fear. ② I confirm that denunciation for all situations which is oppressed the human and the will for improvement through inhuman treatments caused in closed space,vessel and violence on board, the acknowled -gement to spot of exploit in sea labor. Next, for understanding daily space. ① Space of sea or vessel regarding as place of salvation or refuse phenomenally coorresponds to this kind of novel. But through a commonly hidden message in the other side of narration, salvation emphasized that do not exist in substantial space, but exist in our inner situation. ② While a closed space called vessel is a tabloid edition of one's life, I can confirm that is recognized to space that do symbolize a general society. Deviate from a limited meaning which is extension and excavation of a material in the traditional viewpoint recognizing" Sea-novel", I hope that this study is not the end of disuussion but new departure. Furthermore, I hope that this study makes it easy to accommodate sea novel and become foundation for development.
