국문 초록

이 연구는 평생학습이 지역사회발전과 인적자원개발의 목적을 위하여 교육소외집단인 농촌지역 여성을 위한 평생교육 기회를 제공함으로써 교육의 격차를 해소하고 교육의 공공성을 확보해야 한다는 인식에서 출발한다. 현재 많은 평생교육 프로그램이 운영되고 많은 기관에서 평생교육을 실시하고 있지만, 농촌지역 여성들의 요구와 이해를 고려한 평생교육 프로그램은 매우 부족한 실정이며, 여전히 농촌지역 여성들의 평생교육 참여율은 매우 낮은 실정이다. 본 연구는 선행연구와 충남 지역의 평생학습 기초조사를 분석하여 농촌지역 여성의 평생학습 인식 및 요구를 파악하고 취약계층으로서의 농촌지역 여성에 대한 평생기회를 확충하기 위한 과제를 모색하고자 하였다. 연구결과 농촌지역 여성들은 평생학습에 대한 매우 낮은 인지도와 경험을 가지지만, 평생학습의 필요성에 대한 인식은 매우 높고 향후 평생교육에 참여 의향이 비교적 높은 것으로 나타났다. 농촌지역 내의 여성들 사이에서도 매우 다양한 요구가 존재하며, 평생학습에 대한 요구는 학력별, 연령별, 거주지역별(중소도시인가 읍면지역인가), 취업여부, 월소득수준별로 차이가 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 분석을 바탕으로 농촌지역 여성의 평생학습 기회를 확충하기 위한 향후과제로 다섯 가지의 제언을 하였다.

영문 초록

This study begins with the notion lifelong learning should promote the community development and the national competitive power and lifelong education can provide educational opportunities for women in a rural district and reduce the educational distances and ensure the publicities of education. Now many programs for lifelong education enforce in many institutions. But the programs to be considered women's needs and understanding in the area are short. In a rural district, women's rates of participation in lifelong education is very low as usual. On this, I reviewed prior studies and the survey results of 2004 lifelong education in Chungnam province to understand the present status of women lifelong learning. Then, I refered to the tasks to expand the opportunities of lifelong education for women as a vulnerable class. As a result, the women of rural area have low recognitions and experiences in lifelong learning but the necessity for lifelong learning is very high. After this, women have a mind to participate in lifelong education. Therefore, the tasks for women's lifelong learning in a rural district are as follows: First, The policy of lifelong education is planed with correct understanding of women's lifelong learning; Second, the administrative and financial supports are needed to facilitate women's lifelong learning positively; Third, the curriculum and programs are offered to meet women's educational needs in a rural district; Fourth, the educational methods serve women's purpose. And the lifelong learning support center and networking systems should be constructed.
