인터넷을 매개로 나타나는 문제행동과 유형분석 : 국내에서 보고된 사례를 중심으로

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 인터넷을 통해 현재 우리사회에 나타나고 있는 역기능적 현상들을 살펴보고 이러한 현상을 초래하는 사용자의 문제행동을 유형별로 분석해 보고자 하였다. 이를 위해서 국내에서 보고된 인터넷 관련 역기능적 현상들, 즉 자살 사이트, 살인 사이트, 폭탄제조 사이트, 안티사이트, 엽기/잔혹 사이트, 인터넷성인방송국, 아동포르노, 인터넷 매개 매매춘(원조교재), 인터넷이 매개된 문란한 성생활, 인터넷 매개 성폭행, 인터넷 외설증, 해킹, 바이러스 유포, 인터넷 사기, 개인정보유출, 인신비방/욕설/유언비어, 사이버 스토킹, 인터넷 게임중동, 인터넷 강박증, 도박 중독증, 사이버 주식거래 중독증 등의 실태를 살펴보았다. 이러한 사례의 분석을 통해 인터넷의 3대 기능 즉 정보제공, 의사소통, 오락기능에 따라 사용자의 문제행동을 유형화하고자 하였다. 인터넷의 정보제공 기능과 관련 기능에 따라 사용자의 문제행동을 유형화하고자 하였다. 인터넷의 정보제공 기능과 관련된 문제행동은 (1) 유해정보 제공행동 (2) 유해정보 사용행동 (3) 개인정보 사용행동 (4) 과도한 정보탐색행동으로, 의사소통 기능과 관련된 문제행동은 (1) 성관계 추구행동, (2) 공격적 가해행동, (3) 상업적 착취행동, (4) 과도한 교류행동으로, 오락기능과 관련된 문제 행동으로는 (1) 게임 중독행동, (2) 도박 중독행동,(3) 성적 자극 중독 행동으로 유형화를 시도하였다. 마지막으로 이러한 문제행동을 유발하는 심리적 원인을 인터넷상 심리적 특성과 사용자의 특성을 중심으로 논의하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine problematic internet usage and to categorize the behaviors. We used domestic cases, which include suicide internet sites, homicide internet sites, bomb-making internet sites, anti-sites, weird/barborous internet sites, internet adult broadcasting stations, child pornography, internet-mediated prostitution, sexual acting-out, internet-mediated sexual assault, cybersexual addiction, hacking, spreading computer viruses, cheating, stealing personal information, slander/insult/lie, cyber-stalking, internet game addiction, net compulsion, internet gambling addiction, and internet stock exchange addiction. These problematic behaviors are classified into three areas, according to the three functions of Internet-providing information, communication, and amusement. Information providing function is related to problematic behaviors such as (l)providing noxious information, (2)using noxious information. (3)using private information inappropriately, and (4)indulging in information-seeking. Problematic behaviors related to communication function are (l)seeking sexual relationship, (2)offending, (3)cheating, (4)jndulging in communication. The problematic behaviors related to amusement function are (l)game addiction, (2)gambling addiction, and (3)sexual materials addiction. Finally, psychological reasons of these behaviors are discussed as technology-induced reasons and user- specific reasons.
