유아 또래문화에 관한 질적 메타분석

국문 초록

이 연구는 유아의 집단행동을 이해하기 위하여 유아 또래문화를 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 질적메타분석으로 개별 또래문화 연구를 통합하여 또래문화의 전체 특징을 분석하였다. 질적 메타분석에활용한 논문은 RISS 상세 검색에서 또래문화, 유아 문화, 유치원 문화로 검색한 논문 중 다른 논문에는없고 해당 논문만의 독특한 관점을 담았거나, 단순 코딩이 아닌 문화 이론 등의 특정 관점을 토대로해석한 9편의 논문을 선별하였다. 이 논문을 메타문화기술지 7단계 절차를 거쳐 분석하여 재구성한 내용을 Goffman과 Corsaro 관점으로 해석하였다. 그 결과 또래문화 특징은 사람, 공간, 장난감을 내 것과네 것으로 구분하기, 집단으로 유사한 행위 하기, 힘에 저항-순응하는 관계, 은밀한 행위로 나타났다. 이 특징은 놀이 흐름을 해치는 침입자를 배제함으로써 상호 공간을 지키려는 노력, 성인문화를 자기네만의 문화로 바꾸려는 해석적 재생산 과정, 질서와 단체규범에 순응하는 한편 감시자의 눈을 피해 규칙에 저항하는 은밀한 삶의 모습으로 해석하였다. 이 연구는 집단행동의 의미, 인성과 문화, 교육의 중요성을 또래문화 관점에서 이해하려는 시도라는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This study examined the characteristics of peer culture to better understand young children’s group behavior. For this, individual studies on peer culture were combined into a qualitative meta-analysis, providing a comprehensive overview of the key characteristics of peer culture. For the qualitative meta-analysis, nine articles were selected from an RISS search on peer, young children’s, and kindergarten cultures. These articles were chosen as they offered unique content not found in other articles or were interpreted from a specific perspective, such as cultural theory, rather than relying on simple coding. We analyzed them using a seven-step meta-ethnography process and interpreted the reconstructed content through the frameworks of Goffman and Corsaro. The results indicated that peer culture can be characterized by distinguishing between people, spaces, and toys as “mine” and “theirs”; similar behavior within groups; power-resisting and power-conforming relationships; and underlife. These features were interpreted as efforts to protect interactive spaces by excluding intruders who disrupt the flow of play, interpretive reproduction that transforms adult culture into children’s own culture, and underlife that conforms to order and group norms while resisting rules to avoid the scrutiny of observers. This study investigates the significance of collective behavior and the importance of character, culture, and education from the perspective of peer culture.
