한영 법령번역의 AI 번역 오류양상 및 포스트에디팅 가이드라인: 관사를 중심으로

국문 초록

이 연구는 “가장 정확하다고 광고하는” 독일의 AI기반 번역기의 정확도 수준을 알아보기 위해, 전문법률번역가, 포스트에디터의 번역 결과물을 비교하여 빈번하게 발생하는 관사의 오류와 관련하여 포스트에디팅 가이드라인을 제시하고자 한다. 이를 위해, Paul Christopherson(1939), Otto Jespersen(1949), Keith Allan(1980)이 제시한 이론을 토대로 분석에 적용하여 논의한다. 이어서, Ke Hu and Patrick Cadwell(2016)가 제시한 포스트에디팅 가이드라인에서 제외된 관사 항목을 추가하기 위해서 에러 유형을 정리하여 논의할 것이다. 추가된 관사 항목을 토대로, 포스트에디터는 번역업무 수행을 좀 더 수월하게 효율적으로 할 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

영문 초록

This paper presents the new translation guidelines of the use of article when post-editors revise the sentences translated by AI. So it's the key point of this work to analyze what kinds of errors can happen in using articles between the sentences authored in Korean by humans and the translated sentences reproduced by AI. This framework is based upon three theories suggested by Christoper(1939), Jespersen(1949), Allan(1980) to analyze the articles in the sentences produced by humans, AI, and post editor with the comparison of the Post-editing guidelines by Ke Hu and Patrick Cadwell(2016). This research on AI translation post-editing is to establish several types of guidelines as a result of pattern in errors. That's why post editors judge to have article errors including grammatical errors to be fixed exactly. These comparisons focus only on the drafting guidelines on how to appropriately use the articles in post editing. Based on these guidelines, post editors can carry out post-editing assignments more easily. In this point, this paper is to put forward whether the guidelines is applicable for a wide range of users who focus on legal texts. However, there is a limitation because much more data should be needed.
