국문 초록

Purpose: This descriptive study was conducted to identify the influence of the effects of social network site(SNS) addiction tendency and sleep quality on the commitment of nursing students to the major. Methods: The subjects were 139 students in the department of in Jinju City, Gyeongsangnam-do. Data were collected from November 1 to December 31, 2023, through a survey a self-report questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using the t-test, Scheffé test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and hierarchical multiple regression analysis on the SPSS WIN 23.0 program. Results: The analysis revealed an SNS addiction tendency score of 2.35 (range 1-4), a sleep quality score of 0.86 (range 0-3), and a major commitment score of 3.31(range 1-5). The commitment of nursing students to the major was significantly negatively correlated with the SNS addiction tendency(r=-.409, p<.001) and sleep quality(r=-.354, p<.001). The influencing factors were the level of the SNS addiction tendency(β=-.28, p=.001) and sleep quality(β=-.17 p=.046), which together explained 33.3% of the total variance in commitment to the major. Conclusion: Thus, to increase the commitment of nursing students to their major, it is suggested that an intervention program be established to reduce the SNS addiction tendency and enhance sleep quality. In addition, it is necessary to create an educational environment that includes various learning supports and mentoring to give nursing students a sense of accomplishment with respect to their studies.
