주희 중화신설의 도덕교육적 의의

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 주희 중화신설의 도덕교육적 의의를 밝히는 것에 있다. 주희의 심성론은 중화구설에서 중화신설로 전환되면서 심 중심의 새로운 심성체계를 구축한다. 본 연구는 이로 인해 발생한 주희 심성론의 변화된 내용 요소와 그에 따른 도덕교육적 시사점을 논의하였다. 먼저, 심이 성정을 통괄함에 따라서, 미발 시에도 심의 주재력이 발휘될 수 있음을 밝혔다. 이에 따라 도덕교육은 학습자가 내면의 도덕성을 함양할 수 있도록 조력하는 방향으로 구성되어야 할 것이다. 또한, 심의 기능인 지각 개념을 적용하여, 심의 활동 범위가 미발과 이발 시 모두로 넓혀졌음을 밝혔다. 항상 깨어있는 지각의 역할이 중요해진 만큼 도덕교육은 지각의 분별력을 향상할 수 있는 방향으로 구성되어야 할 것이다. 본 연구의 의미는 주희의 중화신설이 심성 함양 교육과 도덕적 지식교육의 철학적 기반이 될 수 있다는 점에서 찾을 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to reveal the moral educational significance of Zhu Xi’s ZhongHeXinShuo(中和新說). Zhu Xi’s Xin-Xing-Lun(心性論) changes from ZhongHeJiuShuo(中和舊說) to ZhongHeXinShuo(中和新說), establishing a new mind-centered system. This study discussed the changed content elements of Zhu Xi’s Xin-Xing-Lun(心性論) and the resulting moral educational implications. First, it was revealed that as Xin(心) controls Xìng (性) and Qíng(情), the predominant power of Xin can be exerted even during wèifā(未發). Accordingly, moral education should be structured in a way that helps learners cultivate their inner morality. In addition, by applying the concept of zhijue(知覺), which is the function of Xin, it was revealed that the scope of activity of Xin was expanded to both in weifa(未發) and yifa(已 發). As the role of always-aware zhijue has become important, moral education should be structured in a way that can improve perceptual discernment. The meaning of this study can be found in the fact that Zhu Xi’s ZhongHeXinShuo can serve as a philosophical foundation for character development education and moral knowledge education.
