국문 초록

본 연구는 유치원의 자유놀이 체험에 나타난 유아 존재의 의미 탐색을 목적으로 하였다. 연구 참여자는 경기도에 소재한 G유치원 토성반 유아 19명이며, 참여관찰을 통하여 현상학적 연구가 이루어졌다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 놀이 공간을 향유하는 유아로서 드러냈다. ‘모두의 공간을 구성하는 주체’와 ‘자유롭게 공간을 공유할 줄 아는 주체’ , ‘나만의 상상으로 펼쳐지는 유일한 공간의 주체’와 ‘친구의 놀이 세계를 이해하는 주체’로 나타났다. 둘째, 놀이 맥락을 향유하는 유아로서 드러냈다. ‘놀이 맥락을 통찰하는 주체’와 ‘놀이 맥락에 따른 조건적 허용의 주체’, ‘놀이 맥락에 따라 다양한 역할로 변화하는 주체’와 ‘놀이 맥락에 따라 친구의 역할을 정해주는 주체’로 나타났다. 셋째, 존재의 가치를 향유하는 유아로서 드러냈다. ‘식물에 특별한 정체성을 부여한 주체’와 ‘자발적 책임을 보이는 주체’, ‘원거리를 초월하여 즉흥적인 자극이 되는 주체’와 ‘자발적으로 경쟁을 즐기는 주체’로 나타났다. 결과를 토대로 향후 유아교육분야에서 유아 존재의 의미를 이해하는 근거를 제시하였으며 유아교육기관에서 교사는 유아의 배움, 행위, 관점 등의 다각적인 측면에서 유아 존재의 의미에 대한 기록의 필요성을 제시하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to explore the meaning of young children’s existence in the free play experience of kindergartens. The study participants were 19 children from G Kindergarten Toseong class located in Gyeonggi-do, and a phenomenological study was conducted through participatory observation. According to the research results, first, young children were shown to enjoy the play space. They emerged as ‘subjects who organize everyone’s space’, ‘subjects who know how to freely share space’, ‘subjects of a unique space unfolding through their own imagination’, and ‘subjects who understand their friends’ play world’. Second, it was revealed as a young children who enjoys a play context. It appeared as ‘a subject who has insight into the play context’, ‘a subject of conditional permission according to the play context’, ‘a subject who changes into various roles depending on the play context’, and ‘a subject who determines the role of a friend according to the play context’. Third, it was revealed as an young children enjoying the value of existence. It appeared as ‘a subject who gave a special identity to plants’, ‘a subject who showed voluntary responsibility’, ‘a subject who transcended distance and became an impromptu stimulus’, and ‘a subject who voluntarily enjoyed competition’. Based on these findings, it is significant as it provided the basis for understanding the meaning of young children’s existence in the field of early childhood education in the future, and that teachers in early childhood education institutions suggested the necessity of documenting the meaning of young children’s existence in various aspects such as learning, behavior, and perspectives.
