청주시 미래유산 선정에 관한 비판적 고찰 -근대 건축물을 중심으로-

국문 초록

청주시는 2023년부터 미래유산목록을 지정하기 시작하였다. 미래유산은 2001년 등록문화재의 도입 이후 종전의 문화재보전법의 보호를 받지 못했던 문화유산을 보전하고 미래세대에 전달하기 위한 수단으로 2013년 서울에서 가장 먼저 도입되었다. 청주시가 선정한 미래유산목록은 근대건축물이 다수를 차지하였는데 기존의 등록문화재가 점 단위의 지정과 관리에서 면 단위로 그 범위가 확대된 바와 같이 개별적인 건축물과 이와 연계된 문화유산의 가치가 추가적으로 고려되는 미래유산의 지정과정이 제도적으로 보완되어야 한다. 청주미래유산의 지속적인 관리와 활용을 위해서는 시민들이 미래유산의 후보군을 제안할 수 있는 경로를 다각화할 필요성이 크며 지정된 미래유산에 대한 아카이브 작업을 진행하고 이를 청주의 지역특성과 정체성을 강화하는데 적극 활용할 수 있도록 관련 제도의 정비와 기구의 마련이 필요하다.

영문 초록

Cheongju City will initiate the designation of future heritage sites in 2023 by compiling and announcing a list of the selected sites. The concept of future heritage was first introduced in Seoul in 2013 as a means of preserving and transmitting cultural heritage to future generations. This initiative addresses cultural elements that may not receive institutional protection under the existing academic and historical values outlined in the Cultural Property Preservation Act, which has been in place since the introduction of registered cultural property in 2001. The list of future heritage sites chosen by Cheon정주연gju City predominantly features modern buildings. As the scope of existing registered cultural properties has expanded from point-by-point designation and management to area-by-area designation, the process of designating future heritage sites should be institutionally enhanced. This enhancement involved emphasizing individual buildings, their associated cultural heritage values, and the facilities surrounding these structures. For the ongoing management and utilization of Cheong-ju's future heritage, there is a need to diversify the channels through which future heritage objects can be recommended. In Addition, establishing a system and organization to archive designated future heritage sites is crucial. This archive can be utilized to strengthen the local characteristics and identity of Cheongju.
