국문 초록

본 연구는 부모의 타인정서 인식역량에 영향을 받은 청소년의 타인정서 인식역량이 학업 무기력에 미치는 직접적인 영향을 밝히고, 부모의 자녀 학업성취 평가에 영향을 받은 청소년의 학업성취 자아개념이 이들 간의 관계를 매개하는지를 탐색하는 데 목적을 두었다. 이를 위해, 한국아동⋅청소년패널조사(KCYPS) 2018의 4차년도(2021년) 자료 중에서 초4, 중1 코호트 원패널과 보호자 자료를 활용하여 구조적 관계를 분석하였다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 중학생과 고등학생 모두 부모의 타인정서 인식역량이 높을수록 청소년의 타인정서 인식역량이 높고, 부모가 자녀의 학업성취를 높게 평가할수록 청소년의 학업성취 자아개념도 높은 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 청소년의 타인정서 인식역량과 학업성취 자아개념이 높을수록 학업 무기력이 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 중학생의 경우 학업성취 자아개념이 타인정서 인식역량과 학업 무기력을 매개하지 않았고, 고등학생의 경우 학업성취 자아개념이 타인정서 인식역량과 학업 무기력을 부분 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 고등학생의 높은 타인정서 인식역량은 학업 무기력을 낮추는 직접효과가 있었지만, 높은 타인정서 인식역량이 학업성취 자아개념을 낮춤으로써 학업무기력을 높이는 간접효과도 나타났다. 이와 같은 연구결과를 기반으로, 중학생에게는 의사소통과 자기이해 교육 프로그램을 제공하고, 고등학생에게는 이 프로그램들과 함께 정서조절전략 학습 프로그램을 유기적으로 연계하여 제공할 것을 제안하였다. 또한, 이 교육 프로그램에 부모도 함께 참여함으로써 타인의 감정 이해와 자녀에 대한 피드백 방법을 학습할 뿐 아니라 부모와 자녀의 상호 이해 시간을 제공할 필요가 있음도 제안하였다.

영문 초록

The this study aims to investigate the direct impact of adolescents' competencies to perceive the emotions of others influenced by parental its on academic helplessness. Additionally, it explores whether adolescents' academic achievement self-concept, influenced by parental evaluations, mediates this relationship. To achieve this, I analyzed the structural relationships using data from the 4th wave (2021) of the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey (KCYPS). The results of the study are as follows. Firstly, it was found that higher levels of parental competencies to perceive the emotions of others are associated with increased adolescents’ competencies. Additionally, as parents provide higher evaluations of their children's academic achievements, adolescents tend to have higher academic achievement self-concepts. Furthermore, it was observed that as adolescents' competencies to perceive the emotions of others and academic achievement self-concepts increase, academic helplessness tends to decrease. Secondly, in middle school students, academic achievement self-concept did not mediate competencies to perceive the emotions of others and academic helplessness. However, in high school students, it was found that academic achievement self-concept partially mediated the relationship between competencies to perceive the emotions of others and academic helplessness. Higher competencies to perceive the emotions of others in high school students were associated with lower academic helplessness, but the indirect effect showed that elevated competencies to perceive the emotions of others were linked to increased academic helplessness by lowering academic achievement self-concept. Based on these research findings, I proposed providing communication and self-understanding education programs for middle school students, and for high school students, integrating emotion regulation strategy learning programs alongside these. Additionally, I suggested that parents participate in these educational programs to not only learn about understanding others' emotions and providing feedback to their children but also to create opportunities for mutual understanding between parents and children.
