버클리 퍼펫 인터뷰에 나타난 불안정 애착 아동의 자기인식 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 버클리 퍼펫 인터뷰(BPI)에 나타난 불안정 애착 아동의 자기인식을 알아보고자 하였다. 총 6명의 아동과 버클리 퍼펫 인터뷰를 진행하였고, 양육자에게는 부모자녀관계검사(K-PRQ)를 실시하였다. 그리고 버클리 퍼펫 인터뷰에 나타난 연구 참여자들의 응답을 양적 분석하고 부모자녀관계 유형에 따른 아동의 공통 답변을 현상학적 방법을 통해 질적 분석하였다. 분석 결과를 살펴보면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연구에 참여한 불안정 애착 아동은 저기 영역에서 학교 공부를 좋아하지 않는다는 답변이 높았다. 그리고 가족환경 영역에서 엄마는 화가 나면 나를 때린다고 하였으며 부모님이 내 앞에서 싸우고 부모님이 싸운 후에 서로 화해하지 않는다는 답변이 높았다. 둘째, 버클리 퍼펫 인터뷰에 나타난 낮은 애착 유형 아동의 자기인식을 살펴보면, 자기 영역에서 스스로 바보라고 생각하거나 성취동기가 떨어지고 불안과 공격-적대성이 나타났다. 그리고 가족 환경 영역에서는 부모의 분노와 적개심이 드러났으며 공통적으로 부부 갈등을 경험했다고 답하였다. 낮은 훈육 유형 아동의 경우, 자기 영역에서 학교 공부에 대한 부정적인 모습과 불안, 공격-적대성이 나타났다. 가족환경 영역에서는 부부 갈등을 경험한 적이 있다고 하였으며 부부 갈등 해결에 대해 본 적이 없거나 잘 모르겠다고 하였다. 높은 관계 좌절감 유형 아동은 자신감이 없고 학교 공부에 대해 부정적으로 답하였으며 학교에서 불안을 경험한 적이 있다는 공통 답변이 있었다. 가족환경 영역에서는 부모의 분노와 적개심이 나타났으며 부부 갈등을 경험하였으나 부부 갈등 해결 과정을 본 적은 없다고 하였다. 본 연구는 버클리 퍼펫 인터뷰를 활용하여 불안정 애착 아동의 자기인식을 살펴본 것에 의의가 있다. 본 연구를 통해 불안정 애착 아동의 이해를 돕고, 사례 개념화 및 상담 목표와 계획을 설정하는 데 의미 있는 자료가 되길 기대한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to explore the self-perceptions of children with insecure attachment as measured by the Berkeley Puppet Interview (BPI). A total of six children were interviewed with the Berkeley Puppet Interview, and the Parent-Child Relationship Questionnaire (K-PRQ) was administered to their parents. We quantitatively analyzed the participants’ responses to the Berkeley Puppet interviews and qualitatively analyzed the children’s common responses according to their parent-child relationship type using phenomenological methods. The results of the analysis are as follows. First, the insecurely attached children in the study reported that they did not like schoolwork in the There domain, and in the Family Environment domain, they reported that their mother hit them when she was angry, that their parents fought in front of them, and that their parents did not reconcile with each other after they fought. Second, the self-perceptions of the low-attachment children in the Berkeley Puppet interviews showed that they thought they were stupid, had low achievement motivation, anxiety, aggression, and hostility in the Self domain, and that they experienced marital conflict in the Family Environment domain, which revealed parental anger and hostility. Low discipline children showed negative views of schoolwork, anxiety, aggression, and hostility in the self domain. In the Family Environment domain, they reported having experienced marital conflict and were either unaware or unsure of how to resolve marital conflict. High Relationship Frustration children were less confident, more negative about schoolwork, and more likely to report experiencing anxiety in school. In the family environment domain, children reported parental anger and hostility and experienced marital conflict, but had never seen a marital conflict resolution process. This study is significant in that it utilized the Berkeley Puppet Interview to examine the self-perceptions of children with insecure attachment. It is hoped that this study will be a meaningful resource for understanding insecurely attached children, conceptualizing cases, and setting counseling goals and plans.
