국문 초록

본 연구는 성인 계층의 정서표현 양가성이 전문적 도움추구 태도와 의도에 미치는 영향에서 자기은폐와 심리적 불편감의 구조적 관계를 검증하고자 하였다. 이는 전문적 도움추구에 영향을 미치는 개인의 심리내적 요인을 밝히고 실제적 접근방법을 제시하였다는데 의의가 있다. 본 연구를 위해 만 18세 이상 성인 472명을 대상으로 자료를 수집하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 정서표현 양가성은 심리적 불편감을 매개하여 전문적 도움추구 의도에 정적인 영향을 미치지만 매개변인인 전문적 도움추구 태도에 부정적인 영향을 주어 전문적 도움추구 의도 역시 낮아졌다. 둘째, 전문적 도움추구 태도가 포함된 경로에서는 모두 전문적 도움추구 의도에 부적인 영향을 나타냈다. 셋째, 자기은폐는 전문적 도움추구에 대한 회피요인임에도 전문적 도움추구 의도에 긍정적인 영향을 미치고 심리적 불편감은 접근요인임에도 전문적 도움추구 의도에 부적인 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 끝으로 본 연구에 대한 제한점과 후속연구에 관하여 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This study sought to verify the structural relationship between Self-Concealment and Psychological Distress in the impact of adult Ambivalence over Emotional Expressiveness on Professional Help-Seeking Attitudes and Intentions. This is significant in that it reveals the individual's psychological factors that affect Professional Help-Seeking and suggests a practical approach. For this study, data were collected from 472 adults aged 18 or older. Research results: First, Ambivalence over Emotional Expressiveness had a positive effect on Professional Help-Seeking intentions by mediating psychological Distress, but it also had a negative effect on the mediating variable, Professional Help-Seeking Attitudes, which also lowered Professional Help-Seeking Intentions. Second, all paths involving Professional Help-Seeking Attitudes had a negative effect on Professional Help-Seeking Intentions. Third, Self-Concealment was found to have a positive effect on the Professional Help-Seeking Intentions even though it was an avoidance factor, and Psychological Distress was found to have a negative effect on the Professional Help-Seeking Intentions even though it was an approach factor. Finally, limitations of this study and follow-up research were discussed.
