예비전력(豫備戰力) 중요성 인식에 미치는 영향 연구: 일반국민을 대상으로

국문 초록

북한의 계속되는 위협과 러시아-우크라이나 전쟁, 미국과 중국의 갈등 등 안보위협은 커지고 있다. 이런 가운데 급격한 인구감소에 따른 병역자원의 감소로 예비전력의 정예화가 더욱 요 구되고 있다. 이러한 상황에서 일반 국민이 예비전력의 중요성을 인식하는 것은 매우 중요한 일이며 우리에게 예비전력은 한국군에 대한 느낌과 가치, 통일인식, 군(軍)에 대한 긍정인식과 관계되어 있다. 이에 따라 일반 국민이 한국군에 대한 느낌과 가치, 통일인식, 군(軍)에 대한 긍정인식이 예비전력 중요성 인식에 미치는 영향을 연구하였다. 2022년 국방대학교 범국민 안 보의식 조사의 2차 자료를 활용하기 위해 요인분석을 통해 타당성과 신뢰성을 갖춘 후 SPSS 통계 프로그램을 이용하여 다중회귀 분석을 하였고 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 일반 국민은 한국군의 느낌·가치 중 신뢰와 청렴이 예비전력 중요성에 영향을 주었다. 청렴은 부정적인 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났는데 이는 군(軍)의 부정적인 보도가 많을수록 예비전력의 필요성을 느낀다는 의미로 해석될 수 있다. 둘째, 통일인식 중 통일의 필요성과 국가이익이 예비전력 중요성에 대한 인식에 정적인 영향을 주었고, 예비전력을 군사력 유지를 위한 핵심전력으로 인식하고 있는 것으로 볼 수 있다. 셋째, 군(軍)의 긍정 인식 중 지역사회 발전 기여, 평화유지 기여, 군(軍) 경험이 사회생활에 도움 순으로 예비전력의 중요성 인식에 영향을 주었다. 기타 연구결과에 대한 시사점 및 제한사항, 향후 연구 방향을 제시하였다.

영문 초록

In light of the ongoing threat from North Korea and a shrinking population leading to decreased military resources, there is a growing need for elite reserve forces. This study examines the significance of reserve forces and their impact on public perception, particularly in relation to the Korean military, national unity, and the public’s view of the military. The study’s findings are as follows: Amidst the various sentiments and values associated with the Korean military, trust and integrity significantly influence the perceived importance of reserve forces for the general public. Notably, integrity has a negative effect, indicating that heightened negative reports about the military lead to an increased recognition of the necessity for reserve forces. Within the context of unification awareness, the perceived necessity and national interest of unification positively contribute to the recognition of the importance of reserve forces. This implies that reserve forces are considerd a fundamental component of national strength. Among the positive perceptions of the military, including contributions to community development, peacekeeping efforts, and military experience, all contribute to the recognition of the importance of reserve forces in enhancing societal well-being. The study concludes by presenting implications and acknowledging the limitations of these research results. Additionally, it outlines directions for future research.
