국문 초록

이 연구는 초등학생의 상상 친구 시각화 표현을 분석하고, 성별에 따른 차이를 검증한 것이다. 연구 목적은 초등학생의 상상 친구 시각화 표현 특성을 밝혀 초등미술에서의 상상 친구 시각화 표현 활동에 교육적 시사점을 제공하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 연구 문제는 3가지로 설정하였다. 첫째, 초등학생 상상 친구의 시각화 표현에서 내면적 표현 요소는 어떻게 나타나며 성별에 따른 차이는 어떠한지, 둘째, 초등학생 상상 친구의 시각화 표현에서 외현적 표현 요소는 어떻게 나타나며 성별에 따른 차이는 어떠한지, 셋째, 초등학생 상상 친구의 시각화 표현에서 내면적 및 외현적 표현 요소의 상관관계는 어떠한지이다. 연구 대상은 초등학교 6학년 학생 85명(남자 44명, 여자 41명)이고, 연구 자료는 연구에 참여한 초등학생이 상상 친구를 표현한 그림 및 질문지이다. 초등학생 상상 친구 시각화 표현 특성을 알아보기 위해 내용분석 하였고, t-test 및 교차분석으로 성별에 따른 차이를 비교하였다. 초등학생 상상 친구 시각화 표현 요소의 연관성을 알아보기 위해 상관 분석하였다. 연구 결과 초등학생 상상 친구 시각화 표현의 내면적 및 외현적 특성을 살피고, 성별에 따른 차이를 확인할 수 있었다. 내면적 표현 특성을 살펴보면 초등학생 대부분은 상상 친구에게 이름을 지어주었고, 상상 친구의 나이는 자신보다 어리게 표현하는 경우가 많았다. 상상 친구의 역할은 같이 놀 수 있는 동반자로 표현하는 경우가 많았다. 외현적 표현 특성을 살펴보면 상상 친구의 개체 수는 대부분 1명이었고, 상상 친구의 형태는 동물, 기타, 인물, 사물, 식물 순이었다. 상상 친구의 성별은 특별히 표현하지 않거나 자신과 같은 성별로 표현하는 경우가 많았다. 상상 친구의 크기는 자신보다 작은 경우, 자신보다 큰 경우, 자신과 비슷한 경우 순이었고, 상상 친구 표현을 위한 색채는 대부분 10색 미만이었다. 초등학생 상상 친구 그림에서 남학생과 여학생 간 차이는 상상 친구의 나이, 역할, 크기에서 유의미하게 나타났다. 이 연구는 상상 친구에 대한 표현이 직접적으로 가능한 초등학생을 대상으로 하였고, 학생 내면에 있는 상상 친구를 가시화한 그림을 통해 상상 친구의 표현 특성을 살펴보았다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This study analyzes the visualization of imaginary companions by elementary school students and examines gender differences. The study aims to explore the characteristics of visualization of imaginary companions by elementary school students and compare the differences between boys and girls. There are three research questions. First, it explores how internal representation elements manifest in visualizations of imaginary companions and the differences based on gender. Second, it investigates how external representation elements are depicted in visualizations of imaginary companions and the differences based on gender. Third, it examines the correlation between internal and external representation elements in the visualizations of imaginary companions. The study participants consist of 85 sixth-grade students from elementary schools, including 44 boys and 41 girls. The data include drawings and questionnaires where the students expressed their imaginary companions. These were analyzed by content analysis to explore visualization elements of imaginary companions, and t-tests and cross-analyses were conducted to ascertain gender-based differences. Also, correlation analysis were utilized to explore the relationships between visualization elements of imaginary companions. The results of the study revealed the characteristics of the internal and external elements in visualizations of imaginary companions by elementary school students and demonstrated gender differences. The study discusses the educational implications for the visualization of imaginary companions in elementary art education.
