서산의 중고제 예인들과 문화유적 개발을 위한 연구

국문 초록

서산지역은 초기 판소리사의 주요 자원은 물론 근대 중고제 가무악의 전통까지 매우 넓은 역사문화적 스펙트럼을 가지고 있다. 본고는 중고제 핵심지역 중 서산지역을 중심으로 중고제 명인, 명창의 중요성을 환기하고 관련 문화유적 개발을 제안하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 그간 서산은 고수관 생가지를 조성한 이후 문화유적에 대한 실질적 개발을 이루었다고 보기 힘들다. 중고제 관련 문화사업이 향후 활발해지기 위해서는 선도적으로 기념관이나 전수관을 건립하는 노력이 필요할 것이다. 그러기 위해서는 지역문화에 대한 자긍심, 축적된 자료의 아카이빙, 중고제 유적 인프라의 구축이 필요하다. 먼저 고수관의 경우 초기 판소리 명창으로서 중요성을 강조하고 고수관 생가지와 꽃샘터 등 유적공원 스토리텔링을 제안하였다. 한편으로 고수관과 관련된 그간의 번역 오류 등을 문제제기하고 바로잡았다. 19세기 전기 명창인 방만춘의 경우, 그의 수련터인 일락사를 중심으로 중고제 문화를 대중화하기 위한 방안을 제시하였다. 특히 문화관광코스와 접목하여 다른 유적지나 생태탐방코스와 함께 일락사의 문화체험을 제안하였다. 20세기 전기 심정순 일가의 경우, 관련된 유적 중 서산시 읍내동에 위치했던 낙원식당의 공간적 중요성을 강조하였다. 중고제 가무악의 산실이자 요람으로 기능하던 낙원식당은 심씨 가문의 예인들이 학습과 교류를 이루었던 공간이다. 이러한 점을 중시하여 낙원식당 자리를 기념관이나 전수관 혹은 중고제 국악당 등의 공간으로 재건립하여 그 위상을 드러내는 것이 필요하다고 보았다. 중고제 관련 연구는 가무악 측면에서 지속되고 있다. 이러한 연구를 통해 중고제 예술이 과거의 것이 아니라 현대에도 지속적으로 향유되고 전승되도록 기반을 만드는 일이 필요하다. 축적된 자료를 활용하고 이를 바탕으로 콘텐츠가 창작 전파되도록 하는 일이 필요하다.

영문 초록

The Seosan area has a very wide historical spectrum, from the main resources of the early history of pansori to the tradition of modern, middle, and old songs and dances. The purpose of this paper is to remind the importance of Junggoje masters and master singers, and to propose the development of related ruins, especially in the Seosan area, among the core areas of Junggoje. So far, it is difficult to say that Seosan has achieved practical development of cultural relics since the creation of the birthplace of Go-sugwan. In order for the cultural business related to Joonggoje to be active in the future, it will be necessary to take the initiative in establishing a memorial hall or training center. To do so, pride in local culture, archiving of accumulated data, and establishment of infrastructure for relics in Junggoje are necessary. First of all, in the case of Ko Soo-gwan, the importance of being a master pansori singer was emphasized, and storytelling in the historic park, such as the birthplace of Ko Soo-gwan and the site of a flower spring, was proposed. On the other hand, problems were raised and corrected for translation errors related to Go-sugwan. In the case of Bang-Manchun, a master singer in the early 19th century, a plan to popularize the culture of Junggoje was presented centering on Illaksa, his training ground. In particular, the cultural experience of Illaksa Temple was proposed along with other historical sites or ecological tour courses in conjunction with the cultural tourism course. In the case of Shim-Jeongsoon's family in the early 20th century, the spatial importance of Nakwon Restaurant, which was located in Eupnae-dong, Seosan-si, was emphasized among the related remains. Through Nagwon Restaurant, which served as the cradle of Joonggoje's songs and dances, the artists of the Sim family achieved learning and exchange. Considering this point, it was necessary to reestablish Nakwon Restaurant as a space such as a memorial hall, training center, or Junggoje Music Hall to reveal its status. The research on Junggoje is continuing in terms of song and dance. Through these studies, it is necessary to create a foundation so that the art of Junggoje is not a thing of the past, but is continuously enjoyed and handed down in the modern age. It is the time when it is necessary to utilize accumulated data and to create and disseminate content based on it. First of all, it is necessary to develop relics related to Junggoje art.
