베트남 조왕 설화와 <복 많은 백정 딸>의 서사 비교

국문 초록

이 논문에서는 베트남 조왕 설화가 우리의 <복 많은 백정 딸>과 비슷한 유형의 이야기임을 밝히고 동일한 유형의 이야기가 서로 다른 결론을 취하게 된 원인을 각국의 서사 전통 속에서 찾아 양국 서사의 지향과 그 의미에 대해 분석하였다. <복 많은 백정 딸>에서 남편에게 쫓겨난 여인이 재혼 후 전남편과 화해하는 서사를 형성할 수 있었던 것은 <내 복에 산다>의 영향으로 인한 것이라 보았다. 여성의 복을 확신하는 서사는 <복 많은 백정 딸>에서 부부의 문제를 해결하는 주도권이 아내로부터 비롯하는 것으로 형상화되었다. 또 무지나 실수로 인해 불행을 만나게 되더라도 해결할 방법이 있다는 낙관적 생각은 부정한 제삿밥 설화를 흡수하고 참조한 결과라 하였다. 한편 베트남 조왕 설화에서는 쫓겨난 여인이 재혼한 뒤 전남편과 재회하지만 살아서는 화해를 이루지 못하고 죽은 뒤 신으로 좌정하는 서사를 구성했다. 이는 <일야택전>, <빈랑전>의 영향에서 비롯된 것으로 분석했다. <일야택전>과 <빈랑전>에서는 여성의 복보다는 현실 질서나 원칙을 더욱 주요하게 고려하는 서사를 보여준다. 그 결과 베트남 설화 속 부녀 갈등이나 부부 갈등은 우리 설화보다 훨씬 심각하고 그 해결 또한 사후로 연기되는 모습을 반복적으로 보인다. 이런 특징은 베트남 조왕 설화에서도 여전히 이어지고 있다. 마지막으로 양국 서사의 지향과 의미를 밝히기 위해 중국의 조왕 설화를 참조하였다. 베트남 조왕 설화와 <복 많은 백정 딸>은 중국의 조왕 내력담 가운데 <헤어지는 부부의 재회>유형과 그 내용이 유사하다. 그런데 베트남의 경우에는 세 명의 조왕이 좌정한다는 점에서 차이가 있고, 우리 <복 많은 백정 딸>에서는 조왕 좌정담이 사라진 것이 특징이다. 이로써 베트남 조왕 설화에서는 부부간 의리를 지키려는 현실의 규범과 함께 부부간 열정도 충족시키고 싶다는 서로 방향을 달리하는 서사적 지향이 공존하고 있으며, 우리 <복 많은 백정 딸>에서는 정절이라는 규범을 넘어 대안적 세계를 창조하려는 서사적 소망이 더 강하게 작동하고 있다고 보았다.

영문 초록

In this paper, it is revealed that the Vietnam Kitchen God tale is a similar type of story to Korea's , and the cause of the same type of story taking different conclusions is found in each country's narrative tradition. The direction and meaning of was analyzed. It was analyzed that was able to form a narrative in which a woman who was kicked out by her husband reconciled with her ex-husband after remarrying because of the influence of . By referring to the narrative that believes in women's fortune, was able to embody a wife who solves her marital problems. Also, she saw that her optimistic idea that even if she encounters misfortune due to ignorance or mistake, she can solve it is the result of absorbing and referencing the tale of . On the other hand, in the Vietnam Kitchen God tale, a woman who was kicked out remarried and reunited with her ex-husband, but was unable to reconcile while alive and settled as a god after death to solve the problem. This was thought to be derived from the influence of and . and show narratives that consider the order or principles of reality more important than women's fortune. This characteristic was still carried on in the Vietnam Kitchen God narrative. Lastly, in order to reveal the direction and meaning of the narratives of the two countries, the type of among the Chinese Kitchen God tales was compared. The stories of the three countries are similar in content. However, in Vietnam's Kitchen God tale, there is a difference in that three kings become gods. Also, in Korea's , it is characteristic that the process of becoming a Kitchen God god has disappeared. As a result, in the Vietnam Kitchen God tale, the norm of keeping marital fidelity and the desire to satisfy the passion between husband and wife coexisted. Meanwhile, in , the narrative desire to create an alternative world beyond the norm of chastity is operating more strongly.
