예비영어교사의 교육실습 경험이 교사효능감, 진로동기, 진로결정자기효능감, 진로태도성숙에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구는 중고등학교에서의 교육실습 경험이 사범대학 영어교육과 예비교사들의 교사효능감, 진로동기, 진로결정자기효능감, 그리고 진로태도성숙에 미치는 영향을 연구하였다. 국내 4년제 대학의 영어교육과 4학년에 재학하는 23명의 예비교사들을 대상으로 교사자격증 취득을 위한 필수 과정인 4주간의 교육실습을 수행하기 전과 후에 그들의 교사효능감, 진로동기, 진로결정자기효능감, 진로태도성숙 등 4가지 영역에 대한 정도를 측정하는 검사를 실시하였다. 연구 참여 학생들의사전 검사와 사후 검사의 응답 결과를 대응표본 t-검증의 통계 분석을 통하여 변화의 정도를 측정하였다. 진로동기와 진로결정자기효능감의 경우 통계적으로 유의미한 증가가 확인되었다. 교사효능감은 전체적으로 유의미한 변화는 나타나지 않았으나 하위 요인 중 하나인 교실경영 영역에서 유의미한 증가가 나타났다. 진로태도성숙의 경우 유의미한 변화는 확인되지 않았다. 연구참여 예비교사들이 교육실습을 경험한 후 그들의 교사효능감, 진로동기, 진로결정자기효능감, 진로태도성숙 간에는 어떠한 상관관계가 있는지 알아보기 위하여 사후 검사 결과로 영역들 간의 전체적, 그리고 하위 요인들별 상관관계를Pearson 상관분석을 통하여 알아보았다. 그 결과 교사효능감과 진로태도성숙의 관계를 제외한 모든 영역에서 통계적으로 유의미한 정적 상관관계가 확인되었고 하위 요인들 간의 다양한 상관관계도 확인되었다. 본 연구는 예비교사의 진로교육과 교육실습 운영에 있어 학문적, 교육적 시사점을 준다.

영문 초록

This study investigated the effects of teaching practicum experiences on pre-service English teachers’ teacher efficacy, career motivation, career decision-making self-efficacy, and career attitude maturity. 23 pre-service English teachers in their fourth year of university participated in the study. Their teacher efficacy, career motivation, career decision-making self-efficacy, and career attitude maturity were tested before and after their four-week teaching practicum at a middle school or a high school. Paired samples t-test results indicated that the participants’ career motivation and career decision-making selfefficacy showed a statistically significant increase. Teacher efficacy overall did not increase but classroom management as one of the sub-components of teacher efficacy showed a statistically significant increase. No significant change was found in their career attitude maturity level. Pearson correlation analysis was conducted among the four areas after teaching practicum. All of them were found to be positively correlated except for teacher efficacy and career attitude maturity. Correlations were also found among various sub-components of the four areas. The study has academic and pedagogical implications in pre-service teachers’ career education and teaching practicum administration.
